Nate Odomes or Tharold Simon....take your pick.

I made a thread about Simon possibly returning a few weeks ago. Fans wanted none of it.

For good reason....he’s awful thus a nominee for the weakest Seahawk cornerback ever.

Pish-Posh, applesauce.

How ‘bout Antoine Winfield?

Literally, well, possibly, well, who’s counting, the only notable ex-Viking signed that couldn’t even crack the roster.

Yes, I was being slightly sarcastic.

I must be getting old and becoming out of touch.
For me, if Shaq Griffin is our weakest CB on this team, I am good with that. He is coached to not let guys get over the top on him. I think he has done ok so far.
He is not a problem on this team, IMO.

Agreed,

our pass defense is:
#2 in TD allowed,
#3 in the league by yards/game;
#3 in passer rating;
#4 yards average, but
#20 on completion percentage.

Stat's are inline with Pete's strategy of not giving up big plays, scoring plays, but sacrifice some short yardage stuff.

That said, it's still intriguing that opposing OCs chose to throw at Griffin instead of picking on a rookie on the other side. Could it be that Pete and Norton favor roookie Flowers with more safety help than Griffin?

That tweet is all kinds of confusing... He's the weakest corner on the team but his side of the field is the 2nd best in the league? The other side of the field is 25th in the league in comparison..

No, Griffin's side is 25th in DVOA and apparently Flowers' side is 2nd. It was awkwardly written, but the main point is Shaq is 53rd out of 61 CBs at a 40% success rate per Sports Info Solutions.

The tweet clearly says the offenses left, which means defenses right. Shaq lines up on the defenses left. Its not poorly worded, its just wrong.

Now I will say that I see Shaq get beat a lot on crossing routes so he may contribute to the defenses right being 25th (if thats what the tweet actually meant since they apparently dont know what side Shaq lines up on.)

I don't know, but I am happy with both of our starting cb's this year. Niko looks good as a backup.
Today they go up against a slinger.
