Walter Jones held out every year for pretty much his entire career.

Kenny Easley wouldn't step foot inside the Hawk's facilities for the better part of 25 years because he thought the Hawks ruined his career.

Lots of the players on the SB winning Hawk's defense you give credit to left Seattle unhappy, and criticized, held out and were outwardly pissed off on the way out the door.

You excluding all these guys?


Russ was nothing but a model citizen while playing in Seattle. Donated his time and money to lots of great charities in Seattle, and was the face of our franchise for a decade. Just because he wanted out doesn't make him unique to just about how any other player eventually leaves a team.

That's pro sports, it RARELY ends well. No reason not to include the greatest QB in franchise history who holds all the teams passing records, and most importantly helped bring us our first Lombardi in the ROH.

IMO that's just being petty.

Matt hasselbeck in his prime gets murdered behind that 2012-2014 OL. Wilson’s escapability was what kept the offense afloat.

I respect your view although I'm not completely in agreement with it. #8 was a master of getting the ball out quickly and didn't drop back , panic and start running around in circles like someone else. I could argue that #3 brought at least some of the protection issues on himself, the line never knew where he'd be , making protecting him difficult.

Maybe I'm still a little pissed .

I don't think the way Russ left should have ANY barring on him being rightfully included into the ROH. Sure, the divorce sucked but that doesn't negate the several years he was a dominant player in this league and incredibly fun to watch. His pirouettes, escapability, the prettiest deep balls in the league...He was magic. I will never, ever forget his contributions to our team and anyone that says he shouldn't be in the ROH is simply butthurt, period, end of story.

Good lord man. One of the most foolish narratives I have ever heard is "Russell Wilson won the Super Bowl because of their running game and legendary defense" as if the man had NOTHING to do with them getting there. What an insult to an incredible talent.

Come on Aros don't conflate what I said. Read what I said, I never said he had "nothing" to do with but you have to admit any QB could have won that SB. Sure he helped the team get there, but he was not the REASON they won the SB, he was a big reason why they lost one.

Based on that criteria, plus his significant on field performance and respectable community work, Russ will more than likely be inducted after he retires. And I'm with you, Russ was magic to watch there for a number of years and it was the best Seahawks football any of us were privileged to enjoy in our history. But, if it were up to me, I would never allow him in and I honestly don't feel butthurt about it. My reasoning is that Russ, by virtue of him being all about himself, hamstrung the team and held them hostage the last several years here. And on his way out, he passive-aggressively pushed to get Pete Carroll and John Schneider fired. I just don't think his deliberate actions to hurt this team for his own agenda qualify him to be in the same fraternity as the 15 honorable Seahawks who occupy the ROH today. IMO, it would disrespect the careers and accomplishments of those 15 men to allow someone like Russell Wilson into their ranks.

*forgot to mention: My recommendations are John L. Williams (I somehow missed Dave Krieg was already inducted, lol).

If you think Russ hasn't earned inclusion based on what he accomplished as a Seahawk, you need to just look into the mirror and decide to erase the pointless bitterness from your life.

I hope Earl reconciles with the team eventually, but will take time (like Kenny). His time here did not end well, but before that, he was one of the all-time greats and we should never forget how he played here.

I would never invite my first wife to anything after she cheated on me, left me raising two boys on my own, and cheated with her own sisters husband. You can call it butt hurt, I am way past that, I call it not a person I would want to honor.

She might have been good for the first 5 years but her last 2 years destroyed her legacy and our marriage and 2 little boys and proved she was a narcissist who only cared about herself above the family.

RW did the same ,not butt hurt , just taking the whole time into perspective. Yes I had the biggest man crush on RW for the first 5 years and thank him for his contribution but the last 5 soured it. Yes he helped the team a lot but he hurt the team a lot. We will never know, but looking back on it, the Hawks weren't bad because of the HC the OC the OL etc etc but rather a QB who IMHO was about himself and dragged the team down.

All this thread is about opinion, everyone is allowed theirs. The question was who deserves to be in the RoH, everyone will say this person and that person, but as @Aircrew so eloquently said it I don't believe he should be allowed to tarnish the ring.

Wagner and Sherman will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and both were big contributors to the Seahawks' best seasons and first Lombardi, so I think it's pretty clear both should be in the Seahawks RoH.

Don’t forget Kam. He still hangs around the team and was the literal BOOM.

It's called the Ring of Honor.

It's a brotherhood.

There's no honor in slandering your coach. No honor in lobbying to get him fired.

There's no honor in not assuming responsibility for your faults, and then insinuating the team around you just isnt good enough.

There's even less Honor in doing all of the above and lying through a good guy smile.
