Anything is possible, and as some have indicated, 2016 lacks the one or two totally dominant teams of seasons past which means there is opportunity for a darkhorse to catch fire and go deep into the playoffs and quite possibly the SB.

As for the 2016 version of our Hawks - predictably unpredictable.

Which is exactly why they have a great chance. In the playoffs, you just have to be the better team that day.

Nope

People keep saying Sunday was just one game and Russ wont play like that again, but he and the team sucked just as bad against Tampa only 2 weeks ago. I have zero confidence in this team getting to the superbowl and I believe the window has closed and they will be even worse next year.
I feel your pain, but don't share the optimism. Until the nail is in the coffin I believe. Remember the 2014 championship game? Until this team craps the bed there is always life.

What about his post was optimistic?

I'm sorry you are right about that. Wrong wording. I guess I feel the window is wide open for the team

Why watch the team then if you don't believe they can make the Super Bowl?

For the same reason many watched from the sold out the Kingdome for nearly 30 years before Holmgren got here!

Also the question wasn't "can they make the SB". it's "Do you believe they will?". Big difference.

I watched the team as a child in the 80s, as a young adult in the 90s. Did anybody during that time really think we were going to the Super Bowl? There might have been a couple of years with Knox, but for the most part we were just happy if we made the playoffs. That question he asked sounds like it comes from a true bandwagoner. Why watch a team if they don't win? I don't know, I just did.

Get the #2 seed, anything can happen. Wouldn't feel as comfortable having to win 3 to get in. Either way, I'll be watching and losing my mind per usual. :smiley_boxin: :smiley_boxin: :smiley_boxin:

Yes, I think this is the year where some team plays out of it's mind for 3 games and wins it all.

Why not us?

I hear you, but this team doesnt make pushes like the 2014 team. Like watching the Tampa and GB game, I was waiting for them the come around and make a game out of it like they have so many times before, and there was nothing. This years team is different. The aura of the team just a few years ago is gone.

I loved our chances with Earl in there, without him will be a challenge but this team has too much talent to not have a great chance at this thing.

So hell yes I believe.

Not my point, and a bad attempt at sarcasm from all the doom and gloom I guess. You couldn't be more wrong if you think I'm a bandwagon fan. Far from it, I've never missed a game in the history of this team, regardless how bad they were for a good portion of their history (damn I'm getting old)
Bandwagon fans stop watching when they lose, and magically come back when they win. Went to my first live game in 79, been a season ticket holder since 93. I wouldn't stop pulling for the team even if they were Cleveland Browns bad.
Just seems strange to assume the worst was my point, I'm not saying that someone shouldn't watch the team if they lose. Not even sure where you got that idea from. If fact, I feel the exact opposite. Thru thick and thin, regardless of the record or how they are playing, you gotta' be there for your team. And I'm sure most on here are.
But hey, everyone can fan the way they want to. We all want the same thing I would think. Everyone deals w/it their own way, and that's cool. I've been called many things in my life, but never Bandwagon. Oh well, it is what it is, couldn't be farther the truth.

We'll make it alright, and we're going to win it.

We will get the #2 seed.

We will play our first game against the Buccaneers at home. Payback time.

We will play our second game at home as well against the Packers. PAYBACK TIME x2.

We will play another old AFC West rival, the Chiefs, in the Super Bowl and win the $#!T out of that game for Super Bowl #2.

Start making the rings.

Winning the Super Bowl against the Chiefs or Raiders would be epic. Chiefs just owned the Hawks back in the day. The one that always sticks out, of course, is the game back in 1990. Hawks won out in KC when the late Derrick Thomas had 7 sacks, and Krieg threw the game winner to Skansi, after ducking down from sack #8. Incredible ending to a game. 7 sacks in a game, unreal.

Then why ask the question you seem to know the answer to?

So many great AFC West memories.

We already beat Denver. Would be great to meet and beat either the Chiefs or Raiders this year... And the other team next year!

This will be the reckoning. GB twice beat us by a record. We wont face them anymore. and Russell won't suck that hard ever again. I don't know if anyone on the team has ever been beaten like that before as a pro. Maybe Bennett since he left for a while. Those guys are gonna be some serious pissed come Thursday...

How will we not face Green Bay anymore ? They have one of the easiest remaining schedules, while the Lions have the most difficult. It's entirely possible they could win the division still, all in thanks to us losing. If we had beat them, it would be close to impossible for them to win the division.

Regardless, we will not play them on grass again, which is our Achilie's heal. And, there is little doubt in my mind we spank the crap out of them if we play a second time this season. I would be a LOT on that game.

Yeah. Anybody could take it this year. I wouldn't make us favorites if I were laying odds, but we have a decent chance. I think using the running backs on short passes (I'm looking at you Reece) will be key to alleviate pressure. Also, Russ will need to run for yardage. We can win any game that doesn't have a plethora of turnovers as this last one did. I doubt we have a game the rest of the season where we turn over the ball more than twice. Bennet will also be key. His play should improve with more games back. We can have a few games at home. Yeah. I am actually not feeling so doom and gloom at this point.

Not calling you a bandwagoner, if I thought you were I would have just called you one. I have no reason to believe you are one. I have never actually called anyone one before, because it is only ever used to shoot down conversation and not have one. I said the question sounds like it comes from a bandwagoner, because they root for teams that they think will win the Super Bowl. That may seem like splitting hairs, but it really isn't. Asking a question like that, either implies that the person asking is one, or they are attempting to expose the person they are asking it of as one. IMO, nobody should have to defend their "fan cred". So it was not the intent of my statement to came a crossed as questioning you fandom.

Sarcasm is a tricky thing on the internet, unless you tell everyone you're doing it you can't assume everyone knows you well enough to get it.

Home game this week, so that is good. I also think this team is not going to take lightly getting owned last Sunday and are going to be dialed in. There is a bit of revenge against the Rams needed and they just fired their coach. Win

Another home game against the Cardinals. The first game this season ended in a tie. The Seahawks are really good at home. Win

Need to go into Levi Stadium and play the Niners. They have really sucked this year, but any NFL team is dangerous. I think Detroit will have either dropped one are be dropping one and the Seahawks will be playing for the 2nd seed. Win

Then it is playoff simulator time. Best case scenario we get the 2nd seed and play at home. We could go to the Super Bowl... the path is there. I can't predict the future though, and can only hope.
