People seem to forget how Denver receivers get open: Pick plays, pick plays, pick plays. I doubt we can blow out Denver by 20. Manning is too good and too smart. I would take a 1 point win.
There will be pick plays. But not as many as you seem to think. Denver kept audibeling to those short crossers because New England kept trying to get pressure by blitzing, seeing as they could get none any other way, leaving them in man coverage. Those pick plays are a recipe for WR death vs cover 3, and the Broncos are smart enough to know that.

Vs Cover 3 I expect a lot more stacks and bunch sets. A few screens. But not that many picks.

If we get a ton of flags early, I would expect our team to pick up the intensity, rather then roll over. There is no way in hell the NFL wants its showcase to turn into laundry day. I'd expect a phone call to the refs at halftime tell them to swallow their whistles in the second half.

See, and if I were a superstitious man, I'd say the reverse: if the NFL wants their #1 golden boy to get his 2nd ring they'll crack down on the hand checking by our DBs. Especially if the snow/wind/cold has already slowed the old man down.

I reject any point of view that says the "league" wants a result one way or another.

The "league" didn't send Etric Pruitt in the exact wrong direction for two big TD plays in XL. I'm sorry, but a few shitty calls doesn't change the fact that the Seahawks still have plenty of chances to win last time and they will win this time if they play their game.

The same Cowherd who said Russell Wilson was average, and that we would lose?

Yeah, what he thinks/says matters.

I mostly agree. The Hawks could have still won XL if they didn't get demoralized. They sort of gave in after the "low-block" call on Hasselbeck's tackle.

Oh I completely agree. I just know that there are fans out there that insist that SB XL was a conspiracy and if we lose this one, the same thing will occur.

I don't see why the refs wouldn't let them play. We've had McCaulay twice already this season including the playoff game against New Orleans. He's familiar with how we play.

Yes and no. If Leavy doesn't call holding on Locklear we have a first and goal at the one, score on the next play, have just driven 90 for the TD, their D is gassed and we are up 17-14. They may well get a FG or TD next possession but we still have time to win it and considering we had really got Shaun going I think we do. The hold was the backbreaker before Pruitt put the icing on the cake IMO. Oh, and it was a ticky tack call at best, total shit at worst (I'm sure you are well aware Madden didn't think it was a legit call).

Am I assuming some things? Sure. But if we'd have been given a fair shake, whether it was a conspiracy or just ineptitude that caused us to not get one, I believe we win and I will go to my grave believing that holding call was the biggest call of the game and was nowhere near "fair".

I agree that hold call was the game changer.

I'm just saying even with that we still had a chance to win the game if our defense wasn't playing 10 on 11.

Respectfully disagree. I think it and the subsequent turnover killed us emotionally. Pruitt just allowed the final dagger to be pushed in. But hey I have an idea, how about WE WIN THIS ONE so we don't ever have to spend much time on that one again? :D
