7:43.

It looks like WR screen with #18 Swain at the top. He stands there for a few seconds while the inside receiver runs his route(post?) to draw both defenders. Then Swain sprints a go route for the lob pass.

That play was brilliant, akin to a TE fake block at the goal line. That play should have been ran several times in the season with how much the wr screen was called.

It was a thing of beauty but I wonder if it worked because there was no film on it? I'd like to see it again for sure.

It worked because of a defensive breakdown on the Cardinals D. Both DB’s bit hard on the Lockett route leaving the less targeted Swain open. Not likely to happen often.

They just beat a damn good team playing for a LOT in their own house. That was a damn good win.
But yeah, you can't help but ask yourself where it has been. Decent not great team, just couldn't win the close ones.

Looked like a total breakdown on defense to me.

It's less a matter of razzle dazzle and more a matter of committing to the run. In every game this year that Russ played that we passed for 50% of the time or less, we won.

And the reason why that stat is so consistent is because we averaged over 4.5 yards per carry for the season before penny went nuts. It's no doubt higher now. So the run was there and we elected not to use it. The only games we struggled in were the wft game and the saints game. And we should have won those as well.

The only game we won passing for more than 50 % was the second niners game.

We just chose to not run. We were near tops in the league in ypc average and middle of the pack in attempts.

Pass less. Run more. Win.

Pretty sure that was DK that drew both DB's, but yeah- pretty much a breakdown in coverage.

You are either going to have Swain wide open or a 1 on 1 for DK on that play.

Checkout the play just before that. Some dirty shit from Budda Baker on the Penny tackle. He held Penny's lower leg and rolled after the tackle was already made. Some Suh level bullshit there.

Isn't that what that Dallas LBer did to Carson a few years back?
