What will a Kubiak offense look like?

In 2024 with the Saints, Kubiak ran the highest percentage of outside runs in the league. Fields has the 2nd most outside runs for a qb in the league behind Lamar Jackson.

Kubiak's style is often compared to Kyle Shanahan's due to utilizing a balanced attack and consistent offense built around a strong offensive line. One of the main differences is that Kubiak seems to favor a running qb in his system, which could explain his past interest in Fields.

Based on this, what will a Kubiak offense look like in Seattle? What players can we see him targeting in free agency and the draft?

Flash back to Wilson's first season with the Broncos. Their #1 defense ran out of gas after half of season when the offense consistently couldn't stay on the field

In the early 90's that's what would happen with us. Next season the offense will do just enough to keep things competitive. The new run game will eat enough clock to keep the time of possession reasonable. In '26, thats when we see the offense start winning the games more often. At least thats what my Ouija board told me

Living in 21 and 12 personnel with a huge amount of under center snaps for the quarterback. Tons of FB usage and utilizing move TEs/H-Backs/FBs in dual back formations. I wouldn't really be opposed to it. I think he's such a special athlete that he could succeed as Taysom Hill type player that moves around the formation if he can't develop enough as a passer.

I prefer guys with more pocket acumen than I think Milroe will ever have, but I'm interested in the idea of betting on athleticism and trying to fill in the gaps along the way a la Philadelphia.

It aligns with how Mac witnessed the Ravens find success with a dual threat qb. When it works, with the right offensive line, and the right balance, you have the factor you had with RW3 wherein you could defend it perfectly but we're playing backyard football at a professional level and you're not.

I cringed at myself thinking "can you win the game in the first quarter?..." lol. But with our soon to be top 5 defense when assembled and this style of offense just making it a bad day for opponents, come 4th quarter they're done. Absolutely championship style football.

If he’s smart he’ll play to his team’s strengths, and currently too many pieces are missing.

Doubt that. I’d say our defense was the difference maker in many games last year. When the D was bad we lost and vice versa. Very few games stand out as offensive explosions. One maybe (v cards)

I'm excited for an old school type offense like this one. I loved the Alex Gibbs style zone blocking scheme and implementing the wide zone. I wonder who he will look at to play FB?
