In recent years we have make some moves to go out and get help on the D line.

Notably
Clowney
Richardson
Clemons

We still need to make a big move and have a few more months to make it happen.

Are you saying a Chris Clemons type of player? Because he is 38 has not played football since 2015.

I don't have a specific name in mind just that seems like something has to give soon. I would loved to be surprised.

They'll sign another veteran run-stopping DT again. Don't think it will be Snacks Harrison... maybe someone a tier lower.

Seriously, snag a DT. Not rocket science. They do it every year, this year is no different.

Markus Golden wouldn't suck. He is coming off of 10 sacks, and he had 12.5 one year in AZ. No one in this camp is talking about him.

Golden is a LB / situational rusher, not their need at this point. You can argue quality, but they’ve already got the bodies for those roles.

The need is a wide body run stuffer with a bonus if he can give you some interior pressure.

One doesn't preclude the other.

Another experienced situational rusher isn't a bad idea, as the Hawks sported the third-worst pass rush in the NFL last year, and their two vet adds are also rotational guys.

If Clowney departs, it is hard to expect any improvement there.

And Golden is about the exact size that Clem was, and Clem was also only a situational rusher prior to his time in Seattle.

In a capless world maybe, but only so many dollars to go around.

I’d assume they considered Golden before signing Irvin and Mayowa and drafting prototypical LEOs in the 2nd & 5th.

DeMarcus Christmas. Get to know him.

Demarcus Christmas | Elite Run Stuffer

July 4, 2018

The Florida State Seminoles have had a lot of talented players on their defense in 2017 that helped them finish with a top 25 defense.

A big part of that was the defensive line that allow their athletes to run free and while the Seminoles lost Josh Sweat and Derek Nnadi they do return their nose tackle Demarcus Christmas. Let’s get to know their monster defensive tackle.

A big part of that was the defensive line that allow their athletes to run free and while the Seminoles lost Josh Sweat and Derek Nnadi they do return their nose tackle Demarcus Christmas. Let’s get to know their monster defensive tackle.

Lining up as the nose tackle in the Seminoles defense, Christmas often was in the A gap looking to control the middle of the field. And at 6’4 308 Christmas used his size and power to control the point of attack to help clog up running lanes and allow the linebackers to run free. What separates Christmas from other space eaters is he shows the strength and enough quickness that he’s able to shed blocks and make plays on either side of him.
