What kind of salary does J.S make?

I'm personally glad JS is the GM. He is good at what he does. Successful. Yes. Perfect? No. Flaws? Yes. But look at some of the crap shows with GMs and owners around the league. Maybe we take some things for granted. But I know - grass is always greener and we prefer complaining and being negative rather than the opposite.

Before the 2025 draft, I was on the fire Schneider wagon. Now afterwards, I’m willing to deal with Schneider for another 2-3 years.

However much time remaining Schneider has left on his contract, let it play out and we shall see how the Seahawks are.

But, Schneider, for now, IMO, helped himself considerably with this latest draft and most here on dot net, actually loved the 2025 draft.

This is pretty much where I'm at. It was understandable to be pissed off at not making a deep playoff run in forever and the continual bad offensive line play. How much of this was Pete's fault? How much of this was due to last year's hectic offseason and not being in lockstep with his new head coach? There's definitely more clarity now. I think we're building an identity and headed in the right direction. I think John has also shown that he's willing to adapt a little bit. I'm sure it killed him to draft a guard in the first round. But he even admitted it was probably going to be necessary in order to get a top-tier guy.

Would you mind sharing how the 2025 draft impacted your opinions on John Schneider?

2-3 years because of one draft when we don't even know if the players will be any good yet? I wasnt advocating for him to be fired, but I'd like to at least see a little in terms of results. OL could easily still be an issue this season.

Jayhawk must be referring to the horrible under 500 record JS has accrued under his watch here.......

Winning in the NFL is easy.... right? ;)

Instead of adding this to the bottom I’ll add here. the moron CANT decide to EITHER Rebuild or that we are going for it all this year and tries to split the difference, That is a fatal flaw for any team because just trying to maintain regular season success just puts us on the same dumbass treadmill we have been on for NINE YEARS.

-3 playoff wins in 9 years - a lucky Vikings missed FG and wins against the backup Philly QB and an injured Lions team.
-Continued refusal to work on the O Line
-Horrible draft after horrible draft
-Horrible trades giving away tons of draft capital for one year rentals and players needing new expensive contracts.
-Adams trade alone should have done it
-RWs last Seahawk contract
-Not canning PC earlier (we can do the PC is the boss sicussion later but if he was only the “figurehead” to PC then what good was he.
-McDowell, Penny, Eskridge etc etc etc.
-“But NOW he’s better” Proof? “Because I like some of his picks/moves” How many post season wins?

With some thought I could x5 the list very easily.

Guys is a loser coasting on 10 years ago.

There are legitimate criticisms here, and if your argument was that he was less than perfect or that he was nearing (or at) prove it time, I'd agree wholeheartedly

But you said you'd fire him immediately and that he was an idiot that should be gone

Seems a bit harsh for a guy that, results wise, is probably top half of the NFL during his tenure

I’m not sure if it’s was coincidence that Zabel was the highest remaining graded player (at least by Seattle) or by “default” Zabel was also “best player available.”

And honestly, if Zabel was drafted before Seattle’s pick, I really have no idea who Seattle would have drafted.

Has what Schneider has done in the 2025 Draft class, changed my stance on JS, in a way, most certainly. Schneider made more NEEDS based picks with this draft than any other. And in a way, this showed me, either, he has revised his philosophy just a bit and/or he has seen some errors in his previous drafts.

JS, may not have been perfect in his years as Seattle’s GM, and no one GM more the most part ever is, but, what you want is a GM, that is not dead set in sticking with what hasn’t worked in scouting/grading players and allow for consultants such has new coaches hired etc to also have a say in who they believe are good players etc.

As a GM, you are not able to perfectly scout all players so you gotta be able to trust your staff has more insight than the GM does and the GM should be able to listen to the coaches as well.

I think this is something Schneider has now been more open too with this latest offensive coordinator and offensive line staff.

Good for John.

Turning a corner by somewhat admitting you did not do well is letting go of personal ego and often times the first step towards fixing an issue.

I commend him on that.

You will always want a person that understands they made mistakes and are willing to learn than a person that sees no wrong in all their decisions.

A person that cannot listen is often a person that cannot grow.

On the draft day thread, I posted that our first round was a 'need' pick. I also joked that he picked an OL for job security and a "yes ma'am" to the lady staring at him, lol, Jody Allen.
