This is what I believe will happen, he will use the king's ransom to build his new core of players and get his QBOTF in next year's draft. It would be the very smart thing to do instead of following the Colts' game plan with Andrew Luck

However, I don't see him sticking with geno this year

Mendoza is about way more than QB-ing. He's a promotable, Latino, underdog champion. Davis (both) choose flash-in-the-pan/lightning-in-a-bottle possibilities over solid, JS (recently) GM-ing. I can't see Raiders giving up the chance to have the most talked about player in the League so Kubiak can get a few other solid foundational players that won't put butts in seats or sell jerseys or get advertisers.

In addition, Pete and TB went and got Geno and it failed. The fan base is excited about Mendoza. The world expects Mendoza to go 1. Making another choice will be unpopular immediately. It would require the team to win more than wherever Mendoza lands or everyone gets fired. Taking Mendoza gives you 2 or 3 years to build.
