What are your feelings on RoY, EoY, CoY?

Does Elway "officially" get credit in the race for EOTY with the drafting of Von Miller even though he did so before the beginning of LAST season? And as you said, hard to give the guy credit for the signing of Manning, huge no brainer for the Donks - except that he DID sign him when there were multiple suitors so maybe, maybe you could argue that he used some finesse in actually nabbing the player that half the league wanted to sign, although in my opinion it just came down to Denver being the best place for Manning due to personnel.

Executive of the year is supposed to be determined based on how well your body of work looks compared to the rest of the league. Bill Polian got six Executive of the year awards, and none of them were from the year he drafted Manning. Ted Thompson was executive of the year in 2011/2012, and did almost nothing of note that season to improve his team. Ted Thompson is one of the best GMs in the business, but giving him the award in 2011 was a lot like when the Academy gave Russell Crowe best actor for Gladiator after they snubbed him for L.A. Confidential.

It's an award that has a long history of being handed out lazily or stupidly. If Elway or Grigson win it, it would be very appropriate.

Kip, you make a compelling argument, the only thing is that the AP is made up of beat writers. I doubt they look as far in depth with the advanced stats where Wilson is superior.

EOTY - John Schneider - My only beef with this (and I don't want this to lean towards trashing JS) is that it doesn't give Pete the credit he deserves in a personnel sense. Schneider has a ton of input and I'm sure he's turned Pete on to a number of potential players but this team is Pete's vision, and I wish that he could be recognized for that.

Which I think will cost Schneider the win. Everyone knows that him and Pete are 1a and 1b in personnel decision department. However, if you look at our roster and how many late picks we have hit on and the amount of rookies who have not only contributed, but impacted our season, that symbiotic relationship with Carroll shouldn't detract too much from what Schneider has accomplished.
