What are our weaknesses? There aren't many

I was listening to some podcasts on mynorthwest and there was talk about Seattle vs Denver and Chris Carter said the LOB would match up well against the Bronco receivers. So I got to thinking about how the rest of our team matches up across the board, and there just aren't many weaknesses to exploit.

Here's my best guess starters/rotational players and after writing it down, it looks awfully good :th2thumbs:

LT - McQuistan/Bailey (Bailey has some learning to do but the potential is there and wait till Okung returns)
LG - Carpenter (James is a beast and he might finally have adjusted his health to the pro game)
C - Unger/Jean Pierre/Spitz? (This could be scary but Lemuel is a good backup, Spitz, who knows?)
RG - Sweezy (Sweezy is great and will only get better but who is his backup?)
RT - Giacomini/Bowie (Breno is a very good RT but should his knee go, Bowie will do nicely thank you)

WR - Rice/Kearse (Isn't this cool? 4 excellent WRs that have shown the ability to make phenomenal catches)
WR - Tate/Baldwin
TE - Miller/Willson (Miller is Pro Bowl caliber and Willson was the best and fastest TE from Rice this year)
RB - Lynch/Turbin/Michael (Is this for real? 1 Pro Bowler, 1 great backup and 1 future Pro Bowler?)
FB - Coleman (uh-oh, I found it, the weakness. But I have faith that he will get coached up and be here a long time)

QB - Wilson (4th on the MVP watch list? Need I say more?)
QB - Jackson (You all saw what I saw, I giggled like a school girl watching one of my favorite QBs enjoy success.)

DEFENSE:

RDE - Clemons/Schofield/Avril (Damn...)
RDT - Mebane/McDonald (to quote JJ Watt "Shut you down!")
LDT - McDaniel/Bennett (Is John Schneider amazing or what?)
LDE - Bryant/Bennett (is Dan Quinn amazing or what?)

SLB - Smith (Superfast, always improving, blitzer that can cover)
MLB - Wagner (2nd in DROY voting, nuff said)
WLB - Wright (His arms can reach haflway across the field and scratch the QBs nose for him)

CB - Browner (6 foot, 4 inches and 220 pounds of DB that gives Welker nightmares)
CB - Sherman (His arms can reach halfway across the field and slap the QB)
SS - Chancellor (230 pounds of sould killing, man crushing, alligator arm creating manhood)
FS - Thomas (The best damn free safety in the NFL, hands down)

Slot DB - Thurmond (Remember our problems covering the slot last year? Me neither)

LS - Gresham (Flawless)
K - Hauschka (can you say "65 yard field goal?)
P - Ryan (Our field position genie, and part of the reason we score as easily as we do)

PR - Golden Tate (The Pinball Wizard who bounces off and around defenders like a steel ball off of bumpers. "Ding, ding, chaching, ching, ding! It's only a matter of time before he runs one all the way back)

KR - Kearse (He's pretty good, not great yet, but he has the potential. By week 7 this may be a major strength.)

So the only thing I really see as weaknesses are KR, FB, and Offensive line depth. This is why John Schneider, Pete Carroll and crew should be considered geniuses and it's a travesty that they haven't won GM of the Year and Coach of the Year respectively.

I'm pretty confident about coming out of Houston with a win, AND of coming out of Indianoplis with a win. Go Hawks! :0190l:

Our qb is too short, our cbs are too tall, our head coach is a cheater, and we play in Canada. Did I get them all?

In all seriousness, I don't see any real weaknesses on this team other than oline health.

As of right now it's mostly nitpicking. I'm hope a team like the Texans can point out a few flaws that we can fix in practice.

If you had to pick one i'd say O-Line pass protection.

I think you're a bit "pie in the sky" on our OL.

McQuistan is servicable at best at LT.
I haven't seen enough of Baily in the reg season to be able to gauge him properly.
Unger is a great Center, but he seems to be playing hurt. JeanPierre seemed a good backup in preseason, but wasn't all that great against Jacksonville.
Giacommini is a good run blocker, but average in pass pro. I hardly call him a "very good" RT.
Sweezy I'm not sure about. He does well on run blocking, and is elite at getting those 2nd lvl blocks and cutting guys down. He gets owned in pass pro by good DT's.
Carpenter has the potential to be a mauler, but I still think he's in preseason form. He seems to be improving.

Overall, OL is our biggest weakess. We have excellent talent and incredible depth pretty much everywhere else.

You're greatly overrating our OL. That's our obvious weakness right now. Luckily Wilson is mobile so it diminishes that a little bit.

Pass protection. Our run game has not been as dominate as last year either. These both go back to the Oline. This is a ragtag bunch, and right now, they're playing that way.

Our defense doesn't seem to have any exploitable holes right now, but that can change. We were dominate against the run to start last season, but that changed as injuries started to affect Red's play. Last year, we were also exploitable in the middle of the field, but that hasn't been an issue yet. I'm not sure if that's because our linebacker play has legitimately improved or just due to the specific QBs we've faced.

This and the one above this... Our O line is pedestrian, the only reason their weaknesses are not even more glaring right now is because of RW.. And that was with Okung in there, now McQuistan's at left Tackle? :180670:

Big weakness we have is OLine. This is our weakness with certain Starters being dinged up. It could kill our whole offense if it keeps up. We might lose Russ if he keeps getting smashed. I am not liking this at all, especially against monster pass rushers.
It's only 3 games in and we are snake bit on this portion of our team. It sucks.

How in the hell could you think it is ok to have Bailey/Bowie as rookies starting on the line?

Kiss our superbowl chances goodbye if that happens.

O line O line O line...the obvious weak link on an otherwise stellar roster.

OL - pass protection specifically

FB - run blocking

TE - run blocking and receiving (primarily depth issues)

After that you can probably include DT, we have solid starters but I still think we have depth issues there.

No team is without a weakness, except maybe the 85 Bears.

Weaknesses:
We are missing a number one receiver and a number two tight end. Our fullback is not very good and our best run stuffer was a third stringer on another team.

Strenghts:
We have tremendously effective receivers that catch everything thrown their way and get good yac, a brutal wear you down in your face running corps and the best defense in the league by a mile.

Our oline, even with okung out is not a weakness, mostly because we have not needed Willson to be a strength so far this season.

So let me get this straight. We are missing a receiver, but we have tremendous effective receivers that catch everything.

And the O-Line is ok with a pro bowl LT out until December or later, and a gimped RT and Center with rookies as backups.

OK Chief, whatever you say.

Right. I am glad we are on the same wavelength! SarcasmOff.jpg.

We don't that tall strong receiver that gets 100 yards a game and opens up the passing lanes for the rest. Megatron or even Julio Jones would do nicely. If we had him, then our leaky oline would be a weakness.

What we have instead is a motley crew of receivers who catch everything rw throws their way while on the run. Our oline is plenty good enough for that.

The first large font was classic..... And then you follow with our motley crew receivers.

So, let me guess, they crank out "Same old Situation" before every game?

Denver would be an extremely tough matchup for the Seahawks. They have big receivers who can play physical plus an athletic TE who is coming into his own. Their QB is a veteran who is extremely intelligent. A slot guy that is the top of his position in the league. Plus their OL is solid. Not saying that the Seahawks couldn't beat the Broncos but it would be a tough matchup. Honestly, I don't think any other team poses the challenge on offense that Denver does. Look at other teams, they may have one big WR but that's it. Denver has three bonafide physical receivers D. Thomas, Decker, and J. Thomas. A quick slot guy - Welker. A HOF QB. A lethal combo.
