To be clear, I'm not trying to absolve Shanahan entirely. He was the HC and it falls to him. I'm just sayin the DCs had ALOT to do with giving up those leads.

Shanahan got the Falcons to a 28-3 lead. Why couldn't the D hold it?

When the D melted in last SB, he hired Steve Wilks so ultimately if falls to Shanahan.

What really killed them in that game tho is that the CHiefs CBs (McDuffie and Snead) shut down Deebo 1 on 1. Its why he isn't on the roster anymore and its why they drafted Pearsall.

This was supposed to be a team with Aiyuk and Pearsall who can both beat Man coverage.

Aiyuk went nuts and Pearsall can't stay on the field.
Good post. Like I said, the guy has done more with less than anyone could reasonably expect. Our two teams have both exceeded expectations and are still playing ball. Good luck Saturday !

Go back to when he was calling plays for Atlanta. 28-3, anyone? Yeah you can look at the defense, but Shanny kept calling long passes while leading and not using up clock. And the last offensive play Atlanta has….shotgun, no one picking up a blitz, a sack pushes them out of field goal range. Bam, Brady gets another ring.

I’m not convinced he learned anything from that.
Again....I'm not absolving him entirely...but seems the DC gets off scot free.

And Teams are lining up all three of their assistants for interviews, copycat league and teams want what the west has, so I think all of us should throw them the Cardinals :)

As has MacDonald. I think the NFC West has three of the best coaches in the NFL.

Agree.

and you are right in a lot you just posted. Thanks for joining and posting again!

Fact is, none of us personally control who our team players or coaches are. We just all love our own team.

Good to see you again too!

I was discussing with JTT recently - Hawks have a great coach in MM. (No one here personally did that, it just went as it went.)

I hope that our guys think about any offers deeply, a coach with success can dictate his environment, a guy looking for his first Gig typically walks into one. One that may already be Toxic and problematic. Many jobs out there have that around them in the NFL. Jets, Giants, Cards, Browns, Dolphins, Raiders now also. They eat up coaches and QB's like popcorn at a movie theatre.

oof.

Gratz guys. That was impressive.

I hate that the Niners had so many injuries coming in and that they got more during the game, but I don't know that it would have made a difference. Purdy got no help back there against a great defense.

Independent of all the guys they get back, they need to do some rebuilding. They got some young guys who even flashed in this shellacking (CJ West, Winters, Mustapha), but next year is year 2 of the youth movement. Can't wait to play you guys twice next year.

Enjoy it. Your team is good and has a shot at the ring.
