Honestly, I don't find their offense to be very scary, but I'm still concerned about them. They are a solid team and will be trouble at home.

I do expect a win, though. Really, I'm more concerned about the Niners at home than the Panthers on the road.

LOLWUT?

Did you watch the game in December? 9ers have no shot at the CLink. No-one does.

No, I missed that game. Can you remind me of the score?

Post it a few times around here, just so I don't forget.

(Seriously, as good as I feel about us at home, the Niners are just flat out better than the Panthers, home or not, and I think deserve more concern for me as a fan. But yeah, post that score a few times anyway.)

Kaepernick's not going to look like a scared puppy in Seattle all night this time, we're not blowing the 49ers out by 29 points again. I'll just be satisfied with a win.

I disagree. Another blowout with the Kraeper and his deer in the headlights look all night long! We'll see I guess.

Rofl, Pete Prisco just made fun of Cam Newton. Check this Twitter exchange:

Gruden finally seeing the light on QBs running and how dangerous and dumb it is

James Barr ‏@RageFury100 1m
@PriscoCBS Do you think even Russell Wilson's conservative running style is dumb?

Pete Prisco ‏@PriscoCBS 13s
@RageFury100 he's a passer

Buahahaha.

There only shot is if the can get there running game started and keep our offense off the field. Doubt that will happen, this should be a the kind of road game the hawks have to win this year.

Their defense looks pretty decent. Luke K had an absolute monster game tonite he's set to have quite the year if their offense can help them out.

It's going to look a lot like week 1 in Arizona last year. That defense is the real deal, but their offense is going to sputter a ton. It's at 10am our time and it will likely be very hot and muggy out there.

If you've watched Carolina's defense their front four is loaded with big men who can get to the QB and defend the run. Kuechly is probably the best ILB in the game and Beason is very good as well. Carolina's front seven is up there with SF for the best in the league, IMO. Running the ball on that defense is going to be a pain, and since they are big and physical I would not expect them to wear down much by the 4th quarter.

I'm starting to feel more comfortable about getting a win there just because Newton has looked so terrible so far this year. But if we do win, don't expect a blowout. Expect something like 19-13.

Yeah, people forget that the Panthers spent their first two picks on highly-rated DTs in this past draft. I think their front seven is going to be a headache for our run game. But their secondary can still be exploited, and I feel more confident about Wilson and Co. doing that this year than I did last year.

And Newton may have looked terrible this year, but Wilson didn't look all that great in his first preseason game, either. There may be some rust to knock off, but Newton was playing very well at the end of last year. It remains to be seen whether he turned a corner there, or if the departure of Chudzinski will have any negative effect, etc.

I had the expect opposite reaction when watching the Panthers. The offensive gameplan looked a lot simpler and cleaner, so I expect the Panthers to be able to move the ball some. And I agree with the comments about the defense. Fortunately Ted Ginn is just as likely to fumble the ball as he is to take it back 100 yards.

Tough game, IMO, and I'm sticking by that. Still think we take the victory.

Fair enough. I just don't think it'll be tough at all. They could barely move the ball last night against a weakened Raven's D. Most of their scoring came from defensive and special teams plays. they're chumps, and the world will know that when the dust has settled on week one of the NFL season proper.

It's amazing how everyone sees things differently. The one thing that makes me think we could see Seattle blowing out Carolina is the number of receivers who can't catch the football for the Panthers.

If our special teams have even half the game against Carolina that they did against the Broncos then I say we win comfortably... 27-13

Go Hawks!

That Panthers defense looks amazing. You guys will be a tough test for them. I think Seahawks win by 10.

But that offense needs serious help. It really is too conservative and I think it's more the OC's fault then Cam's. And they still have no WR's beyond Steve Smith to speak of and that is even a bigger issue.

Steve Smith sucks now, KCFakegirl. He hasn't been good for a couple of years, and Sherman owns him now. The rest of their receivers are scrubs. Their O-line is so-so, and their running game should be easily handled by our front 7.

Panthers defense DOESN'T look amazing. They have decent DTs and one very good linebacker. That's it. everyone else is basically trash. I won't be upset if we only win by 3 points, but I expect to roll these clowns.

that is a gross underestimation Lotulelei, Short, Kuechly, Beason, Hardy and Edawrds are still good. Thomas davis is another year removed from his knee troubles. Chase Blackburn is solid. Its a pretty good front 7.

A lot better than 2 decent DT and one very good LB.
The secondary is very weak tho.

Don't forget that we are only using 10% of our offense in the preseason. It will be another record breaking year for Cam bet on that.

Which record is that? Most natural talent squandered? Vick still holds the record, but you're right Cam has a chance at it this season.

Don't underestimate the Panthers. Even last year when the Seahawks played them the score was really close 16-12. And that was in Seattle. This game is going to be in Carolina and looking at last season, Seahawks weren't as great on road games. It's gonna be a good match-up and a close game I believe but I wouldn't claim the blowout victory until after the game is over.
