Meh...... The only power-rankings worth a crap is the one with the team holding the Lombardi in February!

Based on week 1, #3 seems more realistic (to me). We won't be getting blown out on Sunday, so I don't see us dropping any lower than 3. Depending on our margin of victory, should we win, we will emerge as the legitimate 1 or 2, IMO.

The 49ers have become an offensive minded team since mid season from last year. If the defense was as good as it was in 2011(largely the same players then as now)... we would be unbeatable. That was when Carlos Rogers played out of his mind and Brown had a good year. Now the secondary is the definition of average at best. Hurts the entire defense. On one hand, Rodgers is always going to get his but still they are capable of playing much better.

Yep. They totally changed their thinking. It paid off, but exposed their secondary. Before CK, the opposing offenses didn't get a lot of chances and the defense was fresh for the game.

Well, to be fair, let's put it all in context...

Personally, I'm fine being in second place, 1 back of a perennial Super Bowl contender who just beat a perennial Super Bowl contender who is, oh by the way, a few spots below us in said power rankings.

Geeeez, does anybody remember checking these things just to see if were in the top half of the league?! lol

I am sure you remember it well prior to 2011 Niner fan.

He's not the only one who thinks you're a 49ers chump. I've thought about requesting the mods check your IP address.

So is the amount of 49ers jock you ride in your posts.

Perennial Super Bowl contenders. Please.

Yep. 49ers fan. Either that or you don't know what perennial means, and you're regurgitating sports cliches. My money is on the former with a sprinkling of the latter (caused by your presence on webzone).

What's with all the Niner fans posting as Seahawks fans anyway? What's the motivation to do that?

After years of pretending to be fans of the raiders, they've just gotten used to pretending and now they can't stop.

Kinda like how they brag about a pretend championship after losing the SuperBowl. Which is pretty goddam hilarious

It is the extreme desire to generate the impression of superiority and need to support their perception of Seahawks fans. It isn't true, so they make it true.

They either post as a stupid fan or they come out with "How can we no respect such a storied franchise? The Niners won 5 Super Bowls"

It gets so obvious, especially when their identities argue with each other.

I honestly think they're dumb enough to believe they'll sway Seahawks fans' opinions.

I can't speak to Niner fans posing as Hawk fans but I do think there is an uber-sensitive element to many Hawks fans whereby they feel slighted or hurt if a fellow fan has a slightly open mind or more subjective outlook.... To each his own I suppose....

I think this is part of your problem. I don't know any Seahawks fans that are sensitive to reasonable feedback or even negative comments. We see it here all the time and those guys don't get called out. You on the other hand make comments that sound as if they are coming from a Niner fan and follow that with comments about the Niners that also sound like they would be coming from a Niner fan. Add that to a new member and if you don't understand the suspicion then maybe you need to look at your posts a little more closely.

Keep in mind we have seen this repeatedly. It's not just you but several times a week we get another new poster that just can't help be that voice of reason to explain why we should respect the Niners and that we haven't accomplished anything. It's really way to easy to see if you've been around these forums for a while. What I don't get is why would anyone do it? It is beyond dumb to think your going to influence another fan base and in reality just shows how insecure about your team you really are.

"Reasonable feedback"??? So, let me get this straight... If I don't agree with something you say, I can simply call you a Steelers fan, and that's "reasonable feedback"?????

Seriously.... I'm done with all the accusations because they are unfounded and frankly, dumb.

I came here to discuss Seahawk football, not defend my posts at every turn or convince anybody of anything at any time... I could care less what others think really... I have had good dialogue with plenty of posters here and will continue to simply engage those who aren't offended the minute I say something offensive or controversial or whatever....

Thanks.

You discuss the Seahawks by using general terms. You talk about the 49ers in concrete terms.

Conclusion: You don't know anything about our team and didn't come here to discuss them. Especially with that ridiculous number of times you have to remind yourself about "our" team.
