Complaining about the webzone feels a bit like complaining about shitty smells coming from an outhouse. The Webzone serves a purpose, it occupies a lot of dolts who should be exactly where they are, but there is no reason for me to go sniffing around over there.

You are absolutely right. I went to discuss football and stick up for my team a little and got banned. I'm not posting again, but I was curious what the ban time was normally. I think I got extra added due to my post here... :thirishdrinkers:

Nah, I really like the modding style here and really dislike it there.

It's one of the major reasons why I post much more here.

I totally get that there are a lot of great 49er fans, and that there are simply more idiots over there because there are more people posting, BUT - their moderation style encourages the idiots and insane homers and punishes everyone that is rational and wants to talk real football.

I've never posted there in my life, never registered, never will... Why? You can't discuss football. Too many of their posters are habitual exaggerators or flat out liars.

Seriously, if you are going to quote someone else, at least quote the entire sentence... and not take it so seriously. Or take it out of context to twist it around and infer that I am this terrible person who throws popcorn on players and trolls their forums! WHAT a bunch of over-sensitive paranoid hyperbole.

I was making fun of the fact that they turned one drunken fan spilling popcorn over the rail into a "mob" of crazed Seahawk fans throwing food at an injured player.

Funny that they take my sarcasm of their tendency to overreact, and totally overreact to it!!!

Its cherry picking for sure, but it's happened to me as well on this site. It's just the nature of the beast.

Should be noted that it happens in the media as well. York said a few weeks ago he wants the team to "return to its core" offensively and just about every talking head on TV takes the quote to mean that he wants to return to the days BEFORE Harbaugh. They went on and on about how much of an idiot he is that he can't see what Harbaugh did for the 49ers. Anyone with half a clue can figure out that he's referring to a strong run game with play action...like they ran in 2012 WITH Harbaugh. It also never seemed to occur to any of those peeps that York was RIGHT. They DID get away from what they were good at. They have run less and less play action, less and less 2 TE sets, and run the ball less and less effectively.

Another one just this past week. Tomsula says Reggie Bush is an every down back and the media spins it as that idiot in SF is going to give 30 year old Reggie Bush 300 carries. Tomsulas point was that he's a three down back...IE he can play on "every down". He also said they likely wouldn't use him that way in the very next sentence. It was meant as a compliment to Reggie, not a clue as to how the 49ers will use him as their primary back. Still...line was cherry picked and parroted all over the internet as an example of how Tomsula is an idiot.

Its the same BS as ever though. Posters, media, fans...they'll always cherry pick one or two lines to build up the straw man to argue against. Doesn't matter that the person they were arguing with was never making the point they are arguing with.../its just more fun to argue the over the top, ludicrous, straw man argument.

Never even been warned actually. Some of that is the mods allow for a free flowing conversation and some of that is I'm very careful with what I say and how I say it. I rarely if ever say anything negative about the Seahawks or players on the team and while I'll argue with peeps in regards to the Niners, I'm not insulting.

Makes a difference.

I don't envy the job of the Mods on the Webzone. I was actually asked if I wanted to be one awhile back and I declined. Too many posters. Really hard to keep the conversation going in a good direction with so many people. That's more responsibility than I wanted.

We may give you a bad time because you will spin all things having to do with the 49ers in the most positive light even when you know it's sometimes a ridiculous position. But you have never come near any line I use to warn people let alone ban someone. Fact is being a fan of another team isn't a basis for a ban, neither is if I or others disagree with you as long as you follow the board rules.

OK...I just have to say something on that...

...we don't ever say what got you banned on the Webzone. I'm not saying you weren't responding to posters who were being rude to you, but I've never once said anything close to "If I'm talking out my a$$ its because that's the only way you'll understand".

Is that ban worthy? Dunno...but comparing yourself to myself or Popeye isn't apples to apples. You mentioned before you didn't like to sugar coat your posts and that's why you don't post on the 'zone.

"Sugar Coat" is pretty much every post I put on this site because I'm hyper aware of where I am. I may argue Niner points and disagree, but it never gets to the level of insults even when I'm being BOMBARDED with them.

You were baited. No question. I said that they were rude to you.

All I'm sayin' is that I don't respond the way you did even when I'm baited. You weren't banned because you defended yourself. You were banned because of the WAY you defended yourself.

I'm not defending the ban. That's really not for me to judge...all I'm sayin' is that you are kinda complaining here about not wanting to sugar coat stuff and how its not fair that you responded in kind to insults and then are using Popeye and myself as comparisons to how the way you were banned doesn't happen here.

Well Popeye and myself don't respond to insults the way you did. We've never said anything like that even when we've seen MUCH, MUCH worse thrown our way. We ALWAYS sugar coat what we are saying because we are aware we are guests on another teams forum. I don't expect to be able to take the same liberties that another poster would take so I don't even attempt to push those boundaries.

I'm sure tons of peeps here find me annoying, but I don't think any of them could say truthfully that I'm insulting.
