We should have done 'something' before the trade deadline.

Honestly - It's looking more and more to me that PC was the driving force in roster/personnel. It looks kinda rudderless right now.

I don't need 2 or 3 seasons of this if this is the way it's going to go..... Just my opinion. Doesn't seem like either the GM or the HC or the OC can 'adapt' to anything unfortunately.

Meh. How many OL get traded every year? Not many. Doesn't mean JS didn't try. Teams just aren't dealing their OL in season these days. When there's no trade partners out there, trades don't get done. 🤷‍♂️

True, but if this is a makeover of the team year as it looks like now, we should have leveraged some assets for picks.

I think it's because the Raiders would've asked for high picks considering there's not much O-Line help available, and maybe JS/MM has eyes on rookies in the next draft

I don't have a problem with what they didn't do. Never been a fan of mortgaging the future, seems like it rarely works out in the long run.

I do wonder what they could have gotten with Lockett. I love the guy, true Seahawk but he's coming to the end of his career. And we are paying 2 receivers $30M a year. Seems like a few teams were looking for receiver help, just wonder if we could have gotten something for the future while he still has a at least some value. Just a thought.

^^^ Yep, Jones for a 4th. Considering we have 2 4th's this offseason and it is just a 4th, I didn't have an issue with that either.

We did rebuild the lb positions. Jones looks good. The DT we got makes plays. Harrison?
Wr White looks like a find. Don't know where was from.

Do we even know the Raiders were willing to trade either of those guys? Why would they want to move Parham if he still has another year left on his rookie deal?

We are three years into the post-Wilson rebuild. With the addition of four first-rounders and a genius-level head coach, we are supposed to be a team ready to compete this year, NOW, because we won't have cap space or draft picks for the next off-season.

A few things went wrong:
  1. We signed George Fant in case Lucas needs more time. Yes, Lucas does need more time, but Fant kept injuring himself, too. Keep in mind that Fant did not have an injury history.
  2. Anthony Bradford was drafted as a project, 2 seasons later, he remains a project. His replacement whom we invested high draft capital on, can't unseat Bradford. Ready-to-go center Olu, couldn't make it onto the field, not under Waldon, nor Macdonald. We end up spending cap space for Connor.
  3. Grubb, I'm not sure whose idea it was to hire a college OC, but it sure hasn't worked well so far, has it? And yes, the Fant situation didn't help.
  4. Murphy the rookie first-rounder has been OK to good, but not the dominating force, right?
  5. It has taken more time for our players to learn the Macdonald system, so far, they played like a post-2020 Carroll defense, not a Macdonald defense.
We don't have trade capital, nor an abundance of cap space. We need to make whatever we have work, if whatever we have, after 3 rebuilding years, isn't good enough. We need a new GM, which is very risky move as Schneider may not be the championship builder, but he is above average.

I don't know about not making trade deadline moves. But this is the same front office that wanted to re-sign Jordyn Brooks in the offseason and lost him to Miami because they misjudged the speed of his market. So maybe they thought the trade deadline was next week.

It worked out. I'm higher on Jones than I was on Brooks.

Yeah, that move is for teams that are a bit closer to the top than we've been lately.

I don't really see Lockett as high trade value with his age and salary. We'd have to eat most of his salary, probably, which means there isn't a lot of cap savings in that move.
