Jeremy Lane played miraculous, I thought.

Malcolm Smith I think became the starter at WILL, only subbing out with Hill in obvious short yardage running situations.

JR Sweezy played at guard against the big bad 9er front 7.

Jermaine Kearse got in the game, catching a beautiful pass from Wilson! Didn't come down with the one to the end zone though.

Byron Maxwell got in there, and I never noticed him, so that's cool.

And I don't feel like mentioning every one of our practice squad that started playing on O and D once we were up by 30+ points, so yeah :) These guys did a great job though, my hats off to them. I think we got 3 or 4 potential starters here.

Yep, great thread.

Lane is forcing himself into regular action going forward regardless of who is available. Just another athletic, tough, fearless, somewhat mouthy DB.

Sweezy, on Lynch's TD run he got to the 2nd level faster than I've seen from a guard and chopped Willis out of the play. Willis wasn't used to seeing a guard get to him that quick. Also fearless.

Scruggs bringing it from the interior.

Yeah, good news. It looks like, in a couple of years when our "stars" start looking at FA for a big paycheck, we have some guys ready to step up.

Carroll said that Moffitt being out was a "Numbers" thing, that makes me think Sweezy has moved ahead of him on the depth chart. Anyone have any info on this?

Moffit is always coming across as a happy go lucky guy in those Real Rob reports. Is Sweezy better?

Some call it depth, I prefer starter in waiting. PC and JS are magic when it comes to filling out the bottom 1/3 of the roster and the practice squad. Someone goes down, next man up. Someone wants too much money, by charlie, you are replaceable.

Yep. Makes me feel great, as if we just find talented players without replacing them well, we'd turn into some FA only team like the Jets. Ugh.

Loved what I saw from Lane and appeciate hearing about Sweezy. He has more of an upside that Moffit and it looks like he's improved by leaps and bounds under Cable's guidance.

I'm wondering how well Lane can play the slot. This is probably Tru's last season, and Thurmond appears to have body made of glass.
