Atlanta shifted their attention to Thurmond in a big way hoping to exploit the situation. Thurmond's play certainly closed the door on those hopes.

Got beat like a rented mule by Douglas on that crossing route, but never gave up on the play and got the strip/recovery. :th2thumbs:

I thought he had that forced fumble! I didn't see it in the stats though. Wonder how many passes defensed?

Thurmond has a knack for breaking on passes at the perfect moment. The winning Browner pick-6 against the Giants in 2011? That was off a Thurmond deflection. That's why I've always liked him. We may have revolutionized the cornerback position, but they can still excel from the traditional profile.

Except Gonzo picked him going over the middle, (which of course the refs let slide on Atl) but don't let that get in your way.

The fact that he recovered from getting beat so badly, and took advantage of Earl's ability to get Douglas shaken up, was huge. He kept going, and tomahawked the hell out of that ball, then recovered it. I was impressed.

I just watched the highlights, Thurmond definitely had the forced fumble. ET made it possible but WTIII popped it out and immediately picked it up.
