Discussion last night on show, most were calling Walter a lock in. A lot of people are certain he will go in first time.

If Walt doesn't get elected on the first ballot, they need to burn the place down.

Though I have no love lost for division rivals Rams, you have to include Orlando Pace into that trio. I suspect you will see Ogden, Jones and Pace all make it on their first shot at the hall. So far 1 out of 3 with expectations to have 2 out of 3 this year. Pace has always been a concern for me when it came to the HoF and Jones, because of the Superbowl win he had. Out of the 3, Jones chance at the ring went up in smoke in Detroit, but I am not going to think about that fiasco right now.
Pace probably should have retired from the Rams instead of heading to Chicago for that 1 yr. But it did spread out the 3 LTs and their run at getting into the Hall.

I agree. I had forgotten about Pace. He's definitely in that 3 man mix.

Sure, you can say this. But every time I read the HoF voters talk about a player getting in, the number of championships come into the discussion. It isn't the only thing but I think you are being dismissive if you think there is no weight given to this team-oriented accomplishment. Case in point was the yelling discussion Prime, Faulk and Irvin just had on players that should get in from the current class.
Haley being on 5 Superbowl winning teams and 10 yrs in the probowl was Irvin's case for him getting in. The Superbowls have weight in many players, fans and media's eyes.

Good Lord my friend, how do you watch/listen to those three?drdiags":1padpbdv said:......Case in point was the yelling discussion Prime, Faulk and Irvin just had on players that should get in from the current class.......

I think he will get in on the first ballot and obviously he should, but as a Hawk fan there's always that nagging doubt in the back of the mind. The fact that he got screwed out of being in NFLN's top 100 of all-time concerns me as well.

Wasn't the lawsuit thing smoothed over with the current ownership and Kenny when he was inducted into the Ring of Honor? Paul didn't own the team back when the lawsuit went down.HawkWow":1x7p4ty9 said:drdiags":1x7p4ty9 said:Erebus":1x7p4ty9 said:Its a good thing only QBs are really judged on Super Bowl rings. What's holding Haley back is that he was basically a psychopath. Great player, but looney as hell and didn't make many friends. Irvin is well aware of this. Besides, when he finally called, he will probably go in as a 9er, despite hard feelings (I would think). OTOH, the way Irvin is clamoring for him, makes me think Haley will go in as a Cowboy. Unsure.
Tim Brown is the one getting the shaft. It's ridiculous he's not already in, despite the number of WRs they have to consider.
Easley? Better than Lott, IMO, or at least as good. But again, I am biased. Lots of bad blood between #45 and our Hawks, unsure if that may hold him back. Makes me sick. Probably my favorite player in the history of the game.
Yep. I would call Jones and Munoz equals and the best two LTs that ever played the game. If Walt does not make it this year I will be SHOCKED. :shock:drdiags":3oa7lbgx said:Erebus":3oa7lbgx said:I think a good comparison is Anthony Munoz. Good call. Munoz was a beast back in the day.
