Have you not been reading your own forums lately? You should change your handle to lvngonhwkforums

I see the forums but unlike some of you, I realize that what people think on those forums has little to do with what happens.

Some of you are as usual, so focused on what is happening with 49ers you fail to see what is happening in your own backyard and the implications it could have on the Hawks future. But by all means, carry on it will make the 12th man meltdown all the more entertaining.

I don't make a habit of taking shots at Niners fans, but I honestly have no idea what you're trying to refer to. Is there a conspiracy brewing that the sheeple don't see?

Maybe he doesn't know we have the best coach, GM, and owner in the league?

Or maybe he's referring to the fact that our soon-to-be franchise QB will only be 26 years old next season, has shown tremendous poise with 14 game-winning drives, a career record of 41-13, and a QB rating of 99?

Maybe he's referring to our legendary defense, ranked No. 1 in points allowed for three consecutive seasons? Does he know we already have 10/11 starters locked up for the foreseeable future?

Or maybe he's just referring to the Seahawks' opportunity to win consecutive Super Bowls and then compete for an unprecedented three-Pete in their house?

Our backyard is looking pretty damn good to me.:th2thumbs:

I'd take him for sure. He did quite a bit despite having some average secondary players. 49er fans in general are pretty upset that he's not there now.

Lol it was so much more.

He lost THREE All Pro linebackers for most of the season, two starters in the secondary, and two starting defensive tackles, and STILL put up a top five defense.

The guy is a bona fide defensive genius. Hiring Tomsula was the stupidest thing the 49ers could have done if only because it cost them Fangio.

Best coach in the league is still Belicheat, sorry Hawkfriend.

He was with the Ravens from 2006-2010 and they had great defenses, then 2010 with Stanford which they had a very good defense, then 2011-2014 with the Niners.... Why they are letting him go makes no sense. He knows how to coach defense.

It's debatable. Bilicheat hasn't won a Super Bowl in 10 years. When Carroll beats Belicheat head to head in the Super Bowl in two and a half weeks, Carroll will have an even stronger argument that he is currently the best coach in the league. He will then be going for three straight, something no one has ever accomplished.

I'm sorry the irony is hurting my face right now, did a 9ers fan just try and use the word meltdown against us?

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha...

If we lost Quinn, I'd be all for hiring Fangio provided he fit Pete's vision.

Yeah, I don't see it. Fangio isn't going to last long, first of all, in the open market. He'll be hired by someone before Quinn is, so it will be moot. Second, Fangio has been a strictly 3-4 guy who has his own clearly delineated defensive philosophy. I can't imagine him working well with Carroll, who needs someone who can implement his own philosophy.

I'm curious to see how the 49ers' train wreck unfolds. It sounds like they are looking to move to a 4-3 defense. It would have been hard enough to replace Justin Smith in their 3-4, so adding another defensive linemen to the starting rotation will make that an even more arduous task. Will they officially move on from Aldon Smith or will Smith be tasked with playing with his hand down? Either way, their pass rush will not be the same. Combine that with their weaknesses at CB, and it's not looking good for their new DC.

So they fire a DC who ran a 2nd ranked unit - and apparently now want his place to be taken by the guy who was DC in Oakland.

Oakland.

Well, that makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

Awful decision by the 49er FO. Guy is a fantastic defensive mind. Every where he's gone has had a solid defense, as pointed out earlier in the thread. I don't think their defense will completely collapse by any means since Bowman will be 100% but it'll definitely sting. Justin Smith retiring will also hurt a lot.

Also have no idea what lvng is talking about. We're playing at home for the NFCCG against a team on paper we should beat. Are you referring to RW getting paid? Cause JS has absolutely been working out his salary over the past two years for when his payday comes. Outside of that I literally have no idea what you could be talking about. We've locked up the core defensive players for the foreseeable future. Marshawn may retire but we still got him for one year on paper.

Refresh my memory...what was the York's reputation pre-Harbaugh (during the stadium push)?
Refresh my memory.
Who won the Owl last year and is in position to do so again his year?
Who has an owner that fired a good coach because he needed a yes man in the HC position who has never been a head coach at any level?
Who's team has an owner that just saw an excellent d-coordinator walk out the door cuz he needs a HC that's a yes man?
Who's team got their asses handed to them twice this most recent season and 5 of the last 6 times they've played vs. the Seahawks?
Who finished the season 8-8?
Who's team has a bunch of young stars under contract and who's team has a bunch of aging stars on the edge of breakdown?

I could go on but it's just too easy......like shootin' fish in a barrel.
I can smell your fear.

I thought about posting a can we get our grubby little Hawk hands on Fangio post a few hours before this one, but the obvious things like we still have a DC, his 3-4 connections, etc were logically in the way of that, even though we run some hybrid stuff and so does Fangio.

Mostly I was stunned they let him go, the job he did this year was stunning.

If I had to venture a guess, I would say that the purge is more about getting rid of guys who were too loyal to Harbaugh. Tomsula has been identified as the stoolie already, other coaches would not talk to him becasue they knew, and Fangio must have been one of those guys, because that is the only reason I can come up with why Fangio is not the new HC. The guy is a defensive genius. That was a hodge podge he had play well. Very well. Which is why a bunch of Hawk fans are coveting him.

What a cluster****.

There is a theory that this is just the result of a bunch of drunk Hawks fans who've stolen SF's fax machine and are sending 'termination of contract' faxes to people for the sheer hell of it.

It's more plausible.

Fangio's biggest supporter is new general manager Scot McCloughan. The two worked together in San Francisco. With no ties to Redskins coach Jay Gruden, however, the choice of Fangio would be a departure for the organization.

Coughlin hasn't shown the consistency of Carroll to really make that a strong argument. Carroll owns the record for most consecutive games without losing by more than a TD -- he has his teams in every game, while Coughlin has missed the playoffs in 5/6 years.
