It's refreshing and new.

I'm actually glad Geno, DK, and Lockett are gone. Lockett was one of my favorite players on the Seahawks, but his age, and salary weren't making sense any more. Seems like a really cool dude, but it was time.

Geno was overpaid in my opinion, but someone had to fill in for Mr. Wonderful. DK got to expensive and was to much of a headache.

Sam Howell and Jaren Hall aren't to be judged quite yet, both have potential, so see how it plays out. I would prefer to have someone like Jimmy Garappolo in the mix. The qb position is in question, but not in dire straights. I'm really curious to see how Jaren Hall and Sam Howell battle it out, this coming season.

Seahawks have a bunch of draft picks and cap space, now that the fatty contracts have been eliminated. So, I think Mike is doing a great job so far. It's his second year as a head coach, so I expect that this year will be the year, we can see what he is made of. I hope for the best, now that Pete's shadow is gone.

I would say, if the Seahawks don't make the playoffs this season, it will be a bad mark for Mike Macdonald, like a C-. If he doesn't get the Seahawks in the playoffs by the 2026 season, he gets a D. I expect good things from Mike, so that is my reasoning.

He should've done a hard reset like this after Russell Wilson was traded but instead we've been treading water. He should've drafted a QB last year, but instead here we are. Too little too late.

Hmmm. Let me preface this with this…I wouldn’t have wanted to pay Geno nor DK the $$$ they received.

But, for me at least, they were a huge part of the identity of this team. My 13 year old loved DK. I went to his room and he pulled down his DK posters, had his jerseys spread out on his bed…the bobble heads…he has a friend that is a Steeler fan and wants to give his DK stuff to him. Part of me was proud of him…being kind enough to do that. I was also proud that he loves his TEAM more than his favorite players. The boy lives, eats, sleeps the game…he trains everyday (starting RB and DE for his school team).

He’s excited but, I see how he feels about losing DK and I feel the same. Again, just my opinion here…he felt like Bam Bam Kam at WR to me.

Again…I wouldn’t have paid those guys what they got. That doesn’t mean I don’t love them and won’t miss them in a Seahawks uniform.

We’re definitely excited for the draft capital. I also don’t want us to waste $$$ on fading FA’s. Ready to go young…do the homegrown draft shit…build the trenches.

I’ll forever remember what the recent crew we lost did for us…and will always appreciate them.

I think we look like a bit of a joke organization right now. I don't think that this is a premier destination for players any longer due to the perception that you can't finish a career here or get extended reasonably if you become a star.

Winning cures all, but if they don't keep up the winning this year, I think it spirals fast and I think John Schneider gets canned which puts Macdonald on a hotter seat.

High, high leverage year in terms of determining the future trajectory of this organization. It feels like there's a void in the building that Pete used to fill. We're missing a glue guy to hold things together.

Big risks. Selling fairly low on big name players because they asked to get out after not being rewarded. That looks really, really bad if your bets don't turn into wins.

Don’t give a F about losing DK although I’m shocked they walked away from Geno. It means they are willing to take a legitimate chance this season on having a down season and building for the future. This core, especially on O, ain’t sniffing a Lombardi so why not rip the bandaid off and try and make it so we can be perennial contenders for a half decade of so with good drafting and savvy free agent signings. JS…you’re up fella.

You know what franchise also didn't have people retire from it? The Patriots during the Belichick years. Bill was famous for trading away players right before they went on the decline. And, veterans were willing to go there on the cheap to get a ring. Clearly, we don't have the second part. But letting fan-favorites go when their value to themselves is higher than the value to the team is the right thing to do. Lockette was not worth $30+ million a year to the Seahawks. And frankly neither was DK.

Players hold out because "it's a business" but whine when the team makes business decisions.

My point is that Bill and the Patriots won a lot, so they got to do those types of things. What happened when they stopped winning? Well, let's just say that even 6 Super Bowls wasn't enough to stop people from questioning him doing things like making Matt Patricia his offensive playcaller.

Big risks need to be backed up by wins. You get fired otherwise, and fast. People lose faith, and *fast.* Especially when your former players go on to do better things elsewhere while you flounder... like happened to Bill post-Brady.

I'm stoked. A lot of cap room. Geno gone, don't have to pay 30 mil a year for a WR. Especially when we are gonna pound the rock. Coach should be able to build the team HIS way. Just like Pete did. I'm likely in the minority. But I'm stoked.
