Seattle Seahawks - WR Matt Austin, Utah State
The Seahawks' depth at receiver has been very average in recent years, but after adding Percy Harvin and Chris Harper in the offseason, the position is suddenly a strength. Despite a crowded depth chart, Austin is a name to watch in Seattle as an undrafted free agent who might be able to earn his keep, most likely on the practice squad to start. He isn't a burner, but has enough speed with smooth breaks to set up his routes and the body control to adjust to passes and complete the catch. The Seahawks have recent success with Utah State alums (linebacker Bobby Wagner, running back Robert Turbin) and Austin could be the next in line.

This is your daily remainder that according to the media running the ball 55% of the time = very average WR group.

Pretty sure they said the depth was average, not that the group was...

Yep, and last year our depth consisted mainly of the likes of Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, Charlie Martin and various other short-timers. I'd say "very average" is pretty nice compliment there.

Probably unheralded for a reason, but Doug Baldwin, so who knows.

With our core receivers being great / good and experienced I don't expect any WR to make our practice squad and last there. If a guy is getting press now and is close to making the team then a decision will have to be made - keep a roster spot for him or put him on the practice squad and almost be guaranteed that someone takes him from us.......

Kris Durham got picked up by the Lions and played a bunch for them... and showed us why PC/JS were right in letting him walk.

He has to beat out Chris 'classy hands' Harper, whom Pete seems to be high on presently.

Welp...he's been waived and another WR, Greg Herd has been signed.
