I make this comment a little tongue in cheek however, all the press (and most of the wr comments on this board) have been on DK Metcalf and JSN. I know he’s older however a guy like Tyler Lockett may have another really great year as I haven’t seen his skill set diminish much at all the last few years. All I’m saying is, don’t sleep on him.

I just plain don't know who I focus on if I'm a defense. You almost have to double cover DK at any given time. Tyler and JSN will feast on single coverage too. I look forward to seeing what Grubb does with this receiver group.

No worries about Tyler. He's going to do what he does. He might make more business decisions than he used to when he was younger but he also is savvy as all hell. And Geno trusts him. Believe it - there isn't a DB, safety, or defensive coordinator on the schedule that is sleeping on no-e.

Tyler is overlooked a lot not just here either. Yes DK is the prototype perfect WR but Lockett has been nothing but consistently putting up numbers his whole career.

Tyler is probably grinning from ear-to-ear while listening to all of the "experts" talking about DK & JSN....

He just gets open and then he catches the ball. And he knows where the sticks are. 🤷‍♂️

Exactly Lockett is a little beast. One of the best route runners in the league. Hopefully Grubb can get him running wide open like Mcgay, and little Shanny do with their route concepts. It will allow lockett to use those punt returner skills he has.

It's odd that so many act like he sucked or something. Another year, another 1000 yard season.
When you have the luxory of three star rated receivers, one of the three are going to lose receiving yards to the other two. It's the bitter sweet nature of the game.

Lockett doesn't suck, but there has been a clear downward trend on his trajectory as a player. He isn't as fast or dynamic as he used to be and he struggled getting open more than he used to.

This doesn't mean he should be discounted, he'll still have a spot on this team and be a huge contributor. I do think that he's going to take a back seat to JSN and DK Metcalf this year. I could see him being very valuable as a slot receiver going forward.
