Assuming one of the blue chip DE's or OT's doesn't fall to us at #9, I'd strongly be in favor of trading back, perhaps multiple times, and taking Iowa Center Tyler Linderbaum. If running the ball is the main objective, then why the hell not? This guy is a beast. We'd be set at center for the next 10-15 years. Couple him with a Hall or Walker in round 2, look out!

I like the possibility of the Hawks double-dipping (or even triple-dipping!!) for Oline but my preference is to draft Zion Johnson after moving down from #9 to late-teens or early-20s. Linderbaum is attractive, but I rather spend the draft capital elsewhere.

I'd like to see the Hawks draft both G/C Cole Strange and T Abraham Lucas on Day 3. Either one could be drafted with the pick gained from moving down from #9 overall.

Day 2 picks (#40 and 41) could then be used to bolster the LB crew and/or Edge with some top-notch talent.

My favorite two interior offensive lineman are Zion Johnson and Cole Strange.

Apparently, Pete has mentioned going with shorter OC, because they haven't had success with taller players at OC. Zion played OG in college, but has the perfect profile for OC.

Cole Strange has played both OG and OC in college, but he is 6'6" tall. Strange is a natural LG and Johnson, given a bit of time, could be an amazing OC. Strange has been on a ton of teams' top-30 visits, so I tend to think he is a top-50 prospect.

Zion would be great but I'm really liking the idea of Jurgens at C for the next 10 years instead of Strange. Trade down from 9 to have the possibility of these two while keeping 40 & 41 to use on D. 4 picks in the first 2 rounds would be a great opportunity to start the reload.

Jurgens is a great athlete for the o-line and has a physical playing demeanor. But, Strange is legit, he has much better balance than Jurgens, whom falls off blocks or misses blocks. Strange playes to the echo of the whistle and has good balance. I think a lot of people focus too much on combine numbers, which I am also guilty of, and less on game tape.

Take a look at Strange vs. Kentucky. Strange is #69 playing LG.

I hate it when Seattle drafts a player that isn’t a top positional player as their first pick. They have missed more than they have succeeded. Linderbaum would be a great pick but I’m afraid their acquisition earlier this off season of Blythe will deter the team from possibly drafting Linderbaum.

I'd be happy with that scenario. Because of COVID, this draft is the most loaded in history!
A LOT of college football players chose to play an extra year, which is why last year's draft was so weak. AND, that is why Seattle was willing to trade away their 2021 1st Round picks k.

Gotta say, I'd be kind of bummed if the crown jewel pick to jumpstart a new era was an IOL of any kind. That's just bad value unless they trade BACK back. And there's a reason he's falling.
