Who do you see having the most immediate effect? Long term option? IMO I actually think Ware is a better long term option than Michael. People often reference Ware as a "mini-Marshawn" in terms of his physicality and effort, but I think the main thing that sets him apart from Michael from what I've seen is his vision. Michael seems to either try to cut back over and over until he gets stuffed, or make a move and plow ahead, with no real course corrections once he hits the hole. In terms of talent I think Turbin has the short end of the stick and is mainly only backing marshawn up because of his familiarity with the offense and blocking ability.

Short term is going to be Turbin. He knows the system and is better at picking up blocks.

Long term is Michael. i wouldn't worry about his stutter step (Cable calls in "stomping snakes"). Cable will get it sorted out.

I'm no scout, just going on what my eyes see and things i've picked up on from people i trust with more football IQ. I eat that stuff up. (Look for posts by Kearly)

First, I love Ware. Incredible value in the 6th rd. More elusive than i thought.

Michael has more elusiveness and is simply faster. Has an extra gear that Ware doesn't. They both have bulk and hit the line hard. Michael will be our featured back in the future.

Here is a Derek Stephen's podcast where he breaks down what we got following the draft:

And here are a few pre-draft videos for the curious:

Christine was the #1 rated player on the Seahawks board so that is why i feel like he could have a huge and bright future.

Don't be surprised if that Eddie Lacy kid turns out to be a huge bust when the season starts.

No problem. There is great stuff in that podcast. It goes from UDFA, then rd 6-2. (In other words, Christine Michael stuff is at the end)

Would you describe Michael as "injury-prone"? Or just unlucky at that point in time? I mean only time will tell but i guess just what your hunch is.

Watch some of the green bay game and you can see just how explosive Michael is in space. He has legs to match Turbin's arms. And he uses them to great effect. At the combine he spanked virtually everyone. Give this kid some playing time and he will be a jaw dropper. Michael to me has the physical traits of a burlier version of Barry Sanders. I will get killed for that but that's what I see.

Michael looks to be special.

He has yet to play a real game, but I can't wait to see him freak on teams.

Micheal = Thurman Thomas type situation, same can be said for the 49er RB on IR. Both explosive and had injuries that cast shadow on them like Thomas but if sound could have a huge upside.

I actually totally agree. He doesn't have Sanders' top end or elite change of pace and balance, but he's reminiscent of him for sure. It's also why Turbin is still the #2 guy; Michael is running boom or bust. He'll break a big one, or lose yardage...he hasn't figured out the backside cut, the one cut and go, and burying your nose in the line to get those 3 hard yards.

He's still going to be great as he has elite acceleration. When he can assimilate that to the ZBS we run, it's going to be scary.

I think Michael is the real deal. I really wanted to be team Turbo but he always seems to have his feet too close together at the worst times and gets tripped up too easily. When he hits holes he seems to be at ramming speed, not reckless abandon speed...Michael seemed to hit the hole with everything he had regardless of the consequences. I like that. He also seems to have afterburner speed in the open field.

I didn't get too much of a look at ware so no comment.

If you can't see Michael's talents...well, let's just say it is obvious that they are there. He is as fast as a Reggie Bush, if not faster, but also has the bulk necessary. It is an elite combination. Injuries may hurt his career if he really is injury prone, but I expect to see Christine Michael get the 2nd most rushes this year behind Beast mode.

Michael is so unbelievably explosive for his size. When the hole is there and he hits it in time, the speed and power is so obvious. He is an elite athlete among NFL players, and that is really saying something. If he can learn the scheme and the reads and his decision making improves, he will be a superstar 2 or 3 years from now.

Michaels reminds me way more of Leon Washington and I would guess that is why he was high on the draft board. He has many of the characteristics that Leon had...ie could be an explosive returner, hits the hole very quickly with good burst.

Turbin is more of a pound it back and runs more like lynch than either michael or ware. If you are looking for Michael to eventually replace lynch I don't see it, they are very different backs. Turbin in my opinion fits the role more and possibly ware down the road.

The only thing Leon and Michael have in common is being explosive. Michael is built far better than Leon as far as being an every down type of back. I'm not sure why you think Turbin is a better fit to replace Lynch. Turbin is easier to tackle and much less explosive than Michael.

The Seahawks wouldn't spend their first pick in the draft on a prime Leon Washington IMO.

I think people see Turbo's arms and assume (reasonably) that he is a bruiser that runs people over and breaks tackles all the time. But if you watch him, you see that actually he relies much more on quickness, and has very little tackle breaking ability. I think his best role will always be as a 3rd down pass blocker and receiver.

When Ware is in the backfield with ML, do we get to call it the Warebeast formation?

Micahel is going to be an elite RB in this league. Turbin and Ware are great role players.
