I disagree that adding a top tier pass rusher can't hurt. The loss of cap space and the loss of draft picks can absolutely hurt a team.

Has Micah Parsons made Green Bay that much better?

Not to suggest a similar acquisition by the Hawks wouldn't yield fruit, but if you can scheme your current personnel to lead the league in overall pressure and pressure rate, while also leading the league in the use of a four man front, is the iterative improvement worth it, or would your cap space and draft picks be better used elsewhere?

Shaheed stretching the field is going to make life easier on the offensive line. It'll force defenses to back off and will also give Darnold another quick-throw target. And if we score more, it makes life easier on our defensive line, as the scoreboard pressure forces D's to shift to pass rush and thus become more predictable.

Very strategic signing that takes pressure off some other holes we might have.

I'm expecting it won't improve our passing stats that much, but it will improve the running game significantly, which is something we desperately need for a deep run in January.

If Crosby is a FA after this season, we could still see him join the Seahawks, albeit in 2026. And for less draft capital than it would have cost had the Raiders been acquiescent to a trade.
