Agreed! This one certainly stands out among my favorite Seahawk memories. It wasn't until some time later that I met him in Oklahoma and had a chance to mention it. I think his reply was something like "lucky coincidence". That only serves to remind me not to believe everything I hear.

We lived in federal way at the time, I was 11 or 12 years old, and I was alone in our family room watching the game. We all knew the backstory and the hype leading up to the rematch. What the video doesn't show is the scuffle involving Brian Blades right before that, there was bad blood between those teams. Then the pick, the hit., the fumble and the recovery. I was screaming and yelling so loud my mother came into the room wondering what the hell was going on. Kreig said it best, it was perfect redemption for Steve. Man, that entire story gets me every time I think about it.
Here's the complete game for those interested:

Notice how when Harden hit Largent there wasn't a huge brawl afterwards? Sure, Harden got fined, but there wasn't a major stink raised about it.

Compare that with last week's hit on Trevor Lawrence, which was only about 1/4 as bad, and his teammates and the majority of NFL fans are acting like it's the most egregious foul in the history of sports and that he should be banned from the league.

What happened to us? Why has our culture gotten so immature?

I don't remember the hardin hit, but I sure as hell will remember the payback hit for the rest of my life. I don't know if it was in the story, but Largent was out for a few weeks because of it.

And it was all brought on by not one but two bad Dave Kreig passes.

With this said I loved how Dave Kreig played and actually still have my 1985 sand knit #17 big mesh Kreig jersey. And yes, it still fits!!!

I loved it at the time, and love the memories.
