I watched the Rams destroy the Bucs (who beat us in our house) and I realized if anyone thinks we are on their level they aren't paying attention.

The Rams don't play down to their opponents and don't take their foot off their neck when they have them down. We hired MM to solve this McVay issue. Well time to scheme us some wins regardless of injuries. Guess well see how the season plays out, but it's not trending in the right direction. We better wake up or we will be one and done come playoff time. 5 of 7 on 4th down against a 1-9 team had better concern you, I know it concerns me.

We have not played enough tough teams, I agree, it’s about matchups tho. We match up better against the Rams

Well, This is what I've been saying about wins/losses vs. Opponents.... The Buc's beat us yes, but it was a close game, The Rams game we beat ourselves with 4 INT's, and we still had a shot to win the game... So, The team that beat us (Buc's) lost to the team we should've beat (Rams)... where does that put us as a team?..

Most teams lose in the playoffs broski
Only two make it the superbowl, and only one wins
I'll "count" your opinion out

I see that just making the playoffs is your reward. Nothing wrong with that if that makes you feel good. I want to win championships. 200

Most teams do lose.

And the Count's comments are worth listening to.

How many teams are in tier 1?

The Rams are playing the best football in the NFL right now and we had a very close game at their place dispite giving them 4 turnovers.

Who is the second best team in the NFC?
  • The Eagles just lost to a very mediocre Cowboys team
  • The Packers nearly lost last week to the lowly giants
  • The Bears have been kept close recently by the Steelers, Vikings, Giants and Bengals.
  • The Lions needed overtime to beet the Giants.
  • Anyone else?
IMO if we are a tier 2 team then the Rams are the only team in tier 1, with us in tier 2 with the Eagles, Packers, Bears, Broncos and Pats, but I would probably put all 7 in tier 1.

I whole heartedly disagree. We showed two weeks ago, we can play with anybody.

i think thats an odd take by the OP. We saw these two teams matchup one week ago. Seattle were clearly the stronger team, lost the game with a missed kick at the end on the road, with our QB throwing 4 INTs and extreme inadequacy in the redzone. Now some of what I've mentioned should be attributed to the Rams causing this shortcomings, but I think its fair to say the natural swing of variation would normally have resulted in a Seattle win if you replayed the game over and over.
In all losses this year, I don't think Seattle deserved to lose / were outplayed...
So I don't buy into any narrative that we are not a tier 1 team. I do agree with you that we have a weakness playing with a lead, which is showing up over and over again which I wish we could remediate with controlling the clock more with effective run and playaction game. I still have a firm belief that the team can win out the rest of the year and as a result could hold the 1 seed. Especially with the return of Love, Jones, Knight (and eventually the intro of Rylie) to the defense.

I don't know. I think I'd put the stack of 7/8/9 win teams in the NFC in Tier 1. There would be ordering of that obviously, with the Rams currently on top of Tier 1 and the 49ers at the bottom. All those teams are capable of getting hot in the playoffs. The 5/6 win teams (Tampa Bay, Carolina, and Dallas) fit neatly into Tier 2.

The Hawks can hang with ANY team in the NFL. I know what my eyes tell me. Just keep stacking up wins, we're gonna' need them. NFC is pretty stacked, at least record wise.

The Bucs aren’t nearly as good as when we played them. At this point in the season it’s comical to compare

Foot on the gas?

The Rams scored 3 points in the second half

That's a recipe for .net crucification in these parts
