Sorry, man. There are some things I don't like to look at in relation to my football team, and along with the florescent puke green uniforms, the stoned seagull is one of them.

And if your opinion is so much superior and righteous than mine, then why did they change it? My POV is not an outlier or else would still be on the helmet, would it not? Lots of teams change their uniforms and color schemes, but not many change their logos.

If you're looking for someone to displace your angst, better find out who approved that change and read them the riot act.
Here’s the difference between you and him in this instance. He never said a single bad thing about the new logo. In fact I’d stake my life that he likes the new logo a LOT. What he’s saying (that you are ignoring here) is that the old logo has a meaningful history that should be respected and not delegated. Nobody says you have to think it’s the best logo ever, just don’t disrespect it and call yourself a Seahawks fan. There’s always things we aren’t going to love but we don’t need to treat our history like that.

Well put old friend. I LOVE our current logo. As a graphic designer, I really appreciate how they took the original and made it a bit meaner and more contemporary of a design without completely changing it. I just am sensitive to our history and especially the Native American angle as it is regional-specific and honors an indigenous culture. I'm not so sensitive that I don't get the "hungover, sad" look some fans feel about it, but like you said, I don't think fans should denigrate it without regard for the history of not only the franchise itself, but the art it represents.

I'm not disrespecting the logo per se. What I am saying is that it is inappropriate for a football logo, that it projects a laid back, casual, geek-ish atmosphere, not the aggressive, smash mouth style we identify with as being American football in general and Seahawks football specifically. It's a personal opinion, no more and no less.

I don't know how this discussion ever perverted into such a contest between personalities. All I said was that I could do without the stoned seagull, which is a characterization of the logo that I did not create and is part of Seahawk urban language, if one exists. Yet I get told by a mod that I gotta get over it. SMH.

I know you don’t see how it’s disrespectful even though people have expressly told you it was, so I won’t go into it any further, just understand that just because something isn’t intended to disrespect doesn’t mean it isn’t disrespectful all the same.

If it was taken as disrespectful, I sincerely apologize as that was not my intent. The thought never occurred to me that the use of that term would evoke the reaction that it did or else I wouldn't have used it.

Over the past 40+ years, I've used the 'SS' word on hundreds of occasions with other Seahawk fans, and this is the first time that anyone has so much as raised an eyebrow. Most just chuckle and nod their head in agreement.

This is the last that I'll say on the subject.

You're making it worse with this insulting post.

Love this article.

More importantly, best place to get a fully stitched throw back? If anywhere? Or just hope for one again on the Seahawks auction site?

Back in Seattle.
1970s corporate logo vs 2000s corporate logo battle. Both are nice in their own ways. Maybe people were just less fierce in the 70s?
