So Seattle admitted their mistake and cut Cary Williams, got me wondering if Philly might do the same with Byron maxwell who isn't coming close to playing up to his contract. If he were cut and available at a much reduced rate do you think Carroll and Schneider would bring him back? Would you like the move?

I doubt it happens, but it's an interesting hypothetical, IMO. We know he fits the culture. He'd have to swallow some pride.

He's talking about bringing Maxwell back to the Seahawks. We talk about the Seahwks in this forum don't we?

If they could fit him under the cap they would, but I don't think that is possible.

Oh, they would bring him back. He's great in Pete's system, which isn't being run in Philly. The other good thing would be bringing back a player than chemistry with the rest of the LOB. We saw how that hurt us with Williams.

The big problem is that Philly can't cut Maxwell for at least another year and possibly two. They paid him too much guaranteed money and would not have cap relief from cutting him. They'd also have a ton of dead money.

He is virtually uncuttable until 2017. If Philly cuts him next year, it'll cost 6m more than if they keep him. They won't receive a benefit until after next year.

Only way they get out from that deal is to trade it. Fat chance of that.
