Outside of the Seahawks repeating AND Richard Sherman being healthy all year with another all-pro season. Somebody will blame the curse.

This is just idiotic. I haven't heard anyone say this but dumbass fans.

Seriously, if Sherm went down, it would hurt, but we have Simon to replace him. It would be a drop off, but we could survive.

We have good WR depth and Rice might not have made it out of TC anyways. Of any team in the league, we're the least affected by losing a #1 WR, and Rice wasn't the #1 guy.

We have great depth. We had a ton of injuries last year; 2012 was the year we were very lucky with the injury bug. Our depth was one of the biggest reasons for our championship.

There aren't any curses out there regarding Madden/last SB winner. All there is, is a huge target on their back. Other teams will get up for the Hawks because they are the best team in the league. WR's will try to step up their game because I'm sure 50-75%(if not more) players play Madden and will get annoyed Sherman is on the cover, not to mention he was top 10 on top 100 and he was an ALL-PRO, plus he talks a lot of shit. I say if a team can handle it, it's these guys. This is a team that has been made to deal with this exact type of pressure and competition. It's an everyday thing for them.

We spent all last season having every teams sites focused on us due to our defense and their ability to get into teams head, time in the media etc. We used a Sharpie to draw that target on us two years ago. We won a Super Bowl and the media is just now taking the target approach to use as an excuse to not have a chance to go back.

As far as this team goes they just look at it as business as usual.

We defied the Super Bowl loser's curse in 2006, and we're going to defy this one too.

By winning the Super Bowl the next two years.

The idea of curses is trying to explain something people don't understand . This is emotional thought. I think this team shown they are past the emotional(cant win on the road, can't win early east coast games, etc). That are at the rational; they know if they stay focused and hungry, they have a chance to win every game they play.
Curses? Bwaaaah
Writers are bored in the offseason and want hits.
Truth is:as competitive as the NFL is, the Seahawks are the team favored to win it all.
Go Hawks!

WR curse? That is new, and citing Jerry Rice as an example is strange. Didn't he have 700+ yards receiving at age 42 with us? He did rather well.

It really WOULD SUCK to be a 49rs fan, so do it right, and follow a winning team, OR, quit blaming everyone else for your stupidity.

I think that is one of the biggest misconceptions Sherman has. Many just assume that he's just some tactless, classless punk who instigates trash talk with a breathe of fire but... I've heard or read that Sherman usually isn't the one to start that "shit" but if a WR opens his mouth, Sherman won't close his all game.

Not sure I would paint Sherman an angel or non-instigator. The shot he took on C Patterson with the Vikings was him trying to rattle the rookie. Just turned out that Patterson was thicker than Sherm thought. Why Sherm was in Webb's face (QB turned WR) may have been Webb talking smack, but again all we see is the clips of Sherm telling Webb he is sorry and was a waste of his time.

I think it may be true with the seasoned vets that Sherm will not talk crap unless they start it (Roddy White) vs a rookie Green (Bengals). He picks and chooses his battles. Boldin alluded to him as a fake tough guy after the Stick loss but Sherm showed Boldin respect while playing him in the NFCCG.

The funny thing about analysts that are picking the Hawks to regress or fail is that they cannot find anything legitimate to base their prediction on.

They are relegated to using things like hunger level, SB hangover, history of other teams, draft picks of other teams and of course the curse.

They might mention the losses of Clemons, Bryant, Tate, Thurmond and Browner, but with this team, outside of Tate's PR performance there isn't any one factor that would have any real impact. The Hawks have played without Browner and Thurmond both for long periods of time, even Clemons. They lose Bryant but get a very effective Kevin Williams in his place. They assume that guys like Harvin are going to miss most of the season. They forget that Harvin is actually an acquisition for this season.

What good team didn't lose good players? Why is it only the Hawks that take a step back?

If a team can get to the Super Bowl without Harvin and possesses the depth of the Hawks, how can they genuinely look at a camera and claim that another team will beat them out? It is all speculation and assumption, nothing more. Are the Hawks going to repeat? Who knows? But I am certainly confident that they will be in the conversation come December.
