The WAY Too Early Favorite Player for Pick 18

I honestly wouldn't be surprised by a pick at any position except kicker or punter and to a lesser degree RB at this point. We are actually fairly deep at most positions. An argument can be made that a young impact WR may actually be the best pick at this point if it is in fact a deep OL draft and you can pick up 2 guys with your #2 & 3 or #2 & 4. I could see a LB, DL or CB with some of the aging guys/contract coming up guys. We are in a pretty good position to see how the draft plays our and react accordingly.

Our draft was trash last year. Bustron Murphy over Verse looks like the next Eskridge over Creed Humphrey. He was clearly not even the best Texas DT in that draft, and that better teammate outshone him last year. "The Next Aaron Donald" had a whole half-sack last year, which granted, was a half-sack more than Schneider shows in free agency, but he wasn't remotely promising. Haynes was one of the league's worst guards. Our only good pick was a fourth-round TE whose ceiling is probably "Pro Bowl alternate". Anyone expecting the OL to get magically fixed in this draft hasn't been paying attention.

Murphy had a great rookie year for a DT. Especially only really playing NT. It would be great after the year of experience to move him around a bit more.
