well we had some great energy in that first quarter but after that we left some points out on the field. But here is what I figured the biggest turning points were...
#1 Jerrone Johnson gets the block in the endzone and slides out...chalk it up to adrenaline for him to not slow up a bit and slide out of bounds, but I think we got a bad call not being a touchdown
#2 Long bomb by Luck to a receiver for touchdown ... we should not let that happen PERIOD. They had about 4 yds of offense at that point, gave them a spark for sure.
#3 Field Goal Blocked... McQuisten or just the stand-ins for the Oline not having the experience, but a costly lapse for sure
#4 Ball bounces off Marshawn's chest... I have no idea, but means the ball goes back to the colts SMH
#5 All the 3rd downs that didn't get converted and some that ended up as FGs instead of TDs... Oline Protection or blocking, maybe? Receivers need to step up or a combination of both
#6 Defense on Reggie and Ty... not sure if you can blame Thurmond or what, but we missed on the defense game plan
#7 some really horrible PI calls and other bad calls... blame it on the pink flags I guess
But all these considered, the momentum shifts if you can't move it on offense and you can stop their receivers from getting first downs. Luck and company played a good game after coming back from the initial deficit, we didn't.
We need a healthy Oline back, our TE back and to re-evaluate how our passing game can be improved. Bruce looked good out there, maybe Percy will make a huge difference when he comes in.
Still believing... GO Hawks
