I agree with JVille. Konz is a perfect practice player, because they USE HIM AS A STAND-IN. They did the same thing with Gibran Hamdan a few years back. He was able to mimic a lot of players in his size, speed, and skill set. Hamdan was able to play WR on the scout team because of his size (to get corners ready for big WR's) and was able to mimic the big pocket passers as well (which Seneca wasn't doing, due to the difference in size). He added value to the program because of what he was able to do in practice.
Konz has experience in multiple systems on both sides of the ball. He can fill in as a stand-in for players on other teams on the scout team as a LBer or a TE or DE due to his build and speed. But he can also stand-in for injured players who aren't practicing for us. This is especially important to have a guy who is about Zach size that can run in his place to get the QB's work with an extra TE, and to cover for our injured DE's and LB's in walkthroughs. Walkthrough is absolutely vital for correct placement and position, and it's smart to have one guy on the roster that covers so many jobs on scout walkthrough duty consistently on the roster.
