My heart is still heavy like all of ours. I can't watch any football-related shows (I am watching America's Game: The 2013 Seahawks though, and it's helping) and I can't get past the final play. However, from what I have been reading and seeing since last night, I do feel better about the whole thing as for as what Pete has said to illustrate why that play call was made.

I still think Bevell should move on, I really do, but I don't want his head on a plate like I did last night. Was it a bad call to not run Lynch? Absolutely. We are all nearly unanimous that if the Seahawks hand the rock to Lynch on 2nd and goal at the 1, and you have 3 chances, we win this game and reality looks a lot different today.

It's easy to second-guess and play Monday Morning quarterback. But when I watch that play in slow motion, it was clear to me that Wilson should have back-shouldered that pass. Instead he led Lockette, which normally would be a decent throw IF a defenders wasn't right there to jump the route. The pass went straight to Butler. He throws that ball a few inches more to the inside and it's either a catch for a TD or goal line stand or incompletion.

But it wouldn't have been a pick.

I'm not saying Wilson is the reason for the loss, but after hearing more from the coaches and Wilson himself, I feel strongly that it was a combination of things - and not one person - that created this hole in our hearts today.

We will forever say "what if?" about this final play of SBXLIX. I will pass into the next world saying had we handed it to Lynch we would have been back-to-back Champions.

Onward and forward 12's. There's PLENTY to look forward to in these next several seasons.

I feel the same way. If we had won the SB, I wouldn't be worth a crap all week at work, and it would cost me some serious money.

I'm not all that pissed off at Bevell though. I mean, I am, but Pete knew what play was going in and signed off on it. I'm still livid at the play call, but then again, I was calling for a FG at the end of the 1st half.

It will take a while to get over it but we will.

I would have preferred a Lynch run or a run/pass option by Wilson but I will say that the play call they went with would have worked if executed properly even though NE knew it was coming. Kearse did not win the battle to rub Butler to create the necessary separation (something Wilson wouldn't have time to account for) and in addition a ball an inch or so closer to Lockette would have prevented the INT. They went for it and it didn't work. Of course they went for it at the end of the half and it paid off.

Bevell gets roasted here and I admit he can drive me nuts at times but the flip side is that their offense is pretty damn efficient overall and tailored perfectly to the skill set of Wilson, Lynch, and how Pete wants to play offense in conjunction with how they play defense.

It's football - a game of inches, matchups, and sometimes luck. The Seahawks were not lucky when Lane gets tackled and lands on his arm, breaking it. They weren't lucky when Avril gets concussed. They were lucky when Kearse somehow caught that ball right at the end.

Sucks, but I'm over it and excited about next season.

At least some kids in Africa will think we're Superbowl champs lol

It will take me awhile to really get over it but I am ready to move on if that makes sense

Good post. Echoes both the pain and the acceptance and readiness to see what's next, exactly how I feel

I think the N.E. fans are buying them up for the SB stickers. Do the same thing we were thinking of doing last year to make our shirts and such look like what they wore on tv. At least for the 8-9 fans that showed up to their teams send off anyway. LOL

I think the worst and more important play was the J.Kearse dropped pass in the 4th quarter. He totally sifted the momentum from us to the patriots. I really hope Kearse is replaced by a better 2. He is going into his UW habits. Dropping multiple passes a game. I expected Pete to have a big issue with these things, but i guess they aren't too concerned about it as I am.

Really, kearse isn't even a 2. Or a three.

We need a 1, have Baldwin and richardson in the 2-3, with kearse somewhere in the 4-5

Sigh..
Man seeing that just made it worse. Lol

I'm not watching or listening to any sports shows for a little bit. I have my tv on a different channel and my radio on a different station.

I haven't even watched the highlights or the final play over again. I feel I need to just block it all out until I'm ready to watch all that stuff again.

But even though all of this happend, it was still an awesome ride guys. And it's not over. We are a young team and have a lot to look forward to. These are still the golden years for our seahawks.

I'll be looking forward to see what we do this off season. don't hang out heads guys, we'll be back.

I am more angry/sad today then last night. That play call was a serious choke job. One yard from back to back.

I recognize as fans we are trying to justify the call but everyone I have spoken to, none if whom are Seahawks fans, think it was the worst call in Super Bowl history. One guy in the NY media said it was the worst sports call ever although that was relayed to me. Everyone said Bevell should get fired today.

I am going to try and detach myself from the passion of being a 12 and the inherent homerism and simply admit that play was atrocious. Unless Lynch calls for it, I'm sure Bevell is staying, but I would prefer he gets tossed.

I was pretty upset right after the game for about 10 minutes, but you know what, I just decided to let it go and not let it consume me. In the end, it's just football man. A sport I love, and a team that I have loved since I attended the very first game in the King dome in 1976. It sucks to lose. But, as others have noted, this is a team built for the long haul, and I intend to ride it all the way to the end.

Time will heal this wound, just like our last Super Bowl win healed our first Super Bowl loss. The great news is, that we will contend for a title every year with the core group we have in place now.....think about that. What more can you realistically ask for?

Check out the off season guys. We are going to resign Lynch, and extend Wagner and Wilson....at a minimum. Look at the draft.......best draft potential since 2012 with probably between 10-12 pics (incl. compensatory). I don't mean to be all raw raw here to you guys. Each fan should be allowed however much time is needed for them to come to terms with our season......but man, we have a lot to be thankful for.....and a lot to look forward to.

That's all I got.

Great Season. Go Hawks!

lol that link is really depressing...

Me too. Especially since we know what will all be said. And it will be repeated over and over since in radio listeners get picked up and dropped throughout the show

I'd rather read things on my own terms when the moods strike me which is why I'm sticking to forums.

p.s. ho man.... that link.....
