Why?I mean it makes no sense.Unless Browning is quitting football after the Bowl game or going somewhere
else.
He does have a shoulder problem and we all know this.
It might be the kind that gets worse and has no fix.

If he transfers he's required to sit out a year, which means Browning would be gone by the time he's eligible. Then it would be an Eason vs Yankoff vs Sirmon qb battle. I'd just go with Yankoff personally. I legitly think he could be a future Heisman winner.

You can sit out a year to play one year elsewhere after healing.
He could go the Div2 route or simply quit because of injury.
If he graduates early he can play anywhere next year.
3 really good Qb's are not likely to wait till playing(not these times)
Anyway seems like a great class and we didn't need to poach the Ducks to do it.

UW achieved a number of things with its class.

For starters, UW was particular about the number of scholarship offers it issued to players. UW handed out 86 offers, according to data obtained by 247 Sports.

Auburn, which is 10th in the 247 rankings, handed out 212 offers. Michigan’s 11th-ranked class made 241 offers and Oregon, the No. 2 class in the Pac-12, threw out 261 offers.

“I think we take pride in being one of the team’s that offers the least amount of scholarships because we’re not just throwing a bunch of offers out,” Petersen said. “We’re going to go do our research and figure out who fits us and it’s going to mean something when it comes from Washington.”

UW’s narrowed approach still led to the team adding several options at linebacker, offensive line, quarterback and receiver.

Petersen and his assistants asserted themselves by signing the at least one of the Top 5 prospects in the states of Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

And above all, the Huskies once again won key recruiting battles within the state. UW signed five of the state’s Top 10 players.

Funny how K is a problem..For years UW always had good kickers and you saw some in the NFL.
Maybe we can get an import as they seem to do well due to soccer.

You realize there’s still 2 months til signing day, right? It’s simple math. Washington is done, or might add 1 more (they don’t have room on their roster for more then that). Oregon is still adding 7 or 8 more guys. Usc and UCLA also still have several guys to add.

You realize there’s still 2 months til signing day, right? It’s simple math. Washington is done, or might add 1 more (they don’t have room on their roster for more then that). Oregon is still adding 7 or 8 more guys. Usc and UCLA also still have several guys to add.

I do know the end of the 2nd of two signing day is in February. Washington has better average star rankings compared to Oregon. It's quality over quantity.

Both. By signing day uw and uo will probably be pretty darn close in average star ranking, and I wouldn’t be surprised if uo is higher, if you takeout our long snapper. I'd think average star ranking (a completely subjective ranking in itself) would be the only useful barometer, as it appears the teams differ by the number of players they make offers to.

Also, is the Oregon long snapper the only specialist being brought in by the 4 teams in question?

As of right now, yes. I dont know the specific policies of all those schools, but a lot of schools will take their specialists as preferred walk ons and have them try and earn a scholarship down the road.

And in all honestly, you shouldnt be ranking any of these classes until 3 or 4 years from now. Everybody's class will have some highly rated guys who are duds and wont contribute, and have some low rated guys who turn out to be stars. You gotta just hope they get the right guys, not the highest rated guys.

For example, with Washington one of their highest rated guys is Sirmon, but barring injury i bet he never plays a meaningful snap for them (I think he'll get beat out by Yankoff, then by the time Yankoff is ready to leave, UW will have recruited some other younger dude to take over). Ducks have a 4 star linemen, Jaramillo, and a 4 star RB, Elliot, who I feel the same about.

Having 2 QBs in the same recruiting class is noteworthy for the reason you mentioned, but I don't think you just erase one. If they are both high caliber guys who will compete, then the additional QB's presence is elevating/accelerating the eventual starters development.

10 years ago, even 5 years ago, I would have agree'd with you on the two qb thing. These days though the kids just dont have the patience to stick around if they dont get the startin job. Especially if they have NFL aspirations. Now, the one thing that UW has going for them in this situation is that Sirmon's family works for UW, so maybe that will keep him around. If I had to guess though, it will be Browning this year, Then Yankoff for the next 2 or 3 years, and Sirmon will probably end up transferring down to a lower division (so he doesnt have to sit out a year) to get on the field. We'll all find out together. If they do indeed get Eason too, then who knows what happens.

No matter what, UW's lookin good at QB for the next handful of years, and thats what really matters.

Class rankings are nothing more than something for people to talk about on the interweb. But since I'm a college football junkie, I eat it up.

Every team has had that can't miss athletic freak that turns out to be a total moron, Dillon Baxter, Whitney Lewis, Colt Lyerla, etc.

What would fans have to do it this type of stuff wasn't out there?

Obviously I'm biased, but I think he'll fit in nicely in the Sua Cravens role in Pendergast's defense, That'll make him a matchup nightmare as a blitzer and covering out of the backfield.
