Since they are our next opponent.

I’m a bit worried.

First reason)
They are better than their record shows.

Second)
I’ll be in town for the game and pretty nervous about our “home” record.

They are coming off a bye week, not sure if that helps or hurts them.

Monday Night Football.

I must admit I haven’t been paying too much attention to the Texans this year. Looking for a little scouting intel before I make my Fearless Prediction this Wednesday.

My preliminary thoughts:

1) Our home field advantage now sucks. Pains me to say that but the record doesn’t lie. 1-2 at home this year to 3-0 on the road. This has to be one of the more perplexing stats about this team I can think of at the moment.

2) The Seahawks have the best MNF record in the NFL at 31-13. Something seems to trigger success for this team under the bright lights.

3) The Texans don’t seem to be a team in the top tier. Better than the Titans perhaps but Stroud has certainly come down to earth from his extraordinary rookie year.

Any team is beatable any given Gameday. What makes the Texans beatable? What makes them a challenge?

Appreciate the feedback.

Agreed , they are better than their record indicates. Some close games against really good teams.

It’s going to be another tough test. They played the Rams and Bucs tough, then probably got caught off guard by the Jags. Their bye may actually work to our advantage because they were gaining quite a bit of momentum the last two games.

These are two very evenly matched teams. Should be a good game and can go either way.

We thought that the Seahawks were bad about building the offensive line, but the Texans have been worse. They've had O-line problems for the last two years, and then they trade their two of their better tackles, Laremy Tunsil, who is a top-10 left tackle to the Commanders, and Cam Robinson, not great but better than who they replaced him with, to the Browns.

Now their O-line is ranked near the very bottom of the league.

The Texans have one of the top defenses in the NFL, fewest in points allowed (61), rank in the top 5 against both the run and the pass, and, like the Hawks, have a great defensive HC in DeMeco Ryan. They can do it all on defense, including getting after the QB.

Offense is an entirely different story. Their supposedly revamped offensive line has not been good at either protecting the QB or opening holes for their running game. They are bad so far in rushing statistics, better at passing the ball, but still not good so far there yet. If we can make them more a one-dimensional offense by shutting down their rushing attack, and get after their QB Stroud, we should be able to keep their point total to the low side.

I see the Hawks as solid favorites in this game because our offense has shown it can put up points on anyone so far. It's a good time to start getting our home field advantage back on track.

One thing to consider is Houston is coming off their BYE week. I expect a fairly low scoring game... like 23-17.

It sure would be nice to get Spoon, Love and Hall back on the field next Monday night.

Woolen can take all the time he needs.

Our defense needs to make those open holes smaller for teams to pass on us up the field. Running games needs tweaking imho. Our offense, no disrepect intended but need to put on the gas, not take their foot of the gas and smash the other team in the mouth. I feel they are playing too safe and can easily let the other team come back for the kill if not careful.

Our offense will be tested but JSN will have another big day. Our D line is going to feast on that bad offensive line though. Hope we get a few key guys back from injury as well.
