Tim Ruskell's very own franchise quarterback, the incomparable Mike Teel.

One player I always liked that didn't really get a lot of national recognition was Julius Peterson

I've always had a special place in my heart for players with potential who happened to be deadbeats. My first love was Derrick Fenner, then it was Chris Warren, then Anthony Simmons, and last but not least, Jerramy Stevens. Of the bunch, only Warren reached his peak ability, while simultaneously being the least deadbeat of the group. Which probably isn't a coincidence.

Also, I might have been the only one in his fanclub, but I thought having Jerry Rice on the 2004 Seahawks was bad ass. I could care less about the jersey number thing.

Rice didn't do much for us on or off the field. He was merely serving his ego while with our Hawks and conducted himself like he'd rather be somewhere else.

The salt in the wound regarding the jersey # was the fact that it was Rice that broke Largent's TD record, then came to Largent's house and had his number brought down from the rafters so he could catch a couple more TDs in it. And only a couple, IIRC.

My Seahawk fanhood began 35 years ago today. My hated stepdad shut off my atari while I was in the middle of playing a game to watch "his" Raiders pummel the upstart Seahawks....HA HA HA the Seahawks won 27-7 and I have been a fan ever since.

A real fan would know it's "Fredd" Young.

Half the fans now have no clue about John L Williams.

I'll throw out Derrick Fenner, Rufus Porter, and Nesby Glasgow also.

Snap! Some already posted but the 1st original #51 Anthony Simmons. One of my fav players from that era of teams.

Don't forget Levon Kirkland and Chad Eaton. Oh yeah, the lunchbox Craig Terrill. I have no idea how Craig make the cut year after year. He had the worst non-athletic shaped body I've ever seen. I remember a pic with him and all the other rooks that year after a rookie mini camp and thinkin', "Who the hell is that white boy in the pic? He can't possibly be one of our rookie draft picks! He has no biceps!" I seriously thought he was a Hawk assistant/water boy.

ML is only behind John L. on my fav Hawk RB list.
Fenner was damn good too.
We need Bruce Irvin to become Rufus Porter.
Our DBs have grown a foot since Nesby, lol.

Phillip Daniels is definitely a good one ... and since no one else has mentioned it (that I've seen) thus far, I'll go to his companion on the other side and go with Michael McCrary. Outside of this current unit, that front 4 (for a couple of years) was arguably the best defensive line in Seahawks history -- and virtually no one else who's not a Seahawks fan either knows or remembers.

While I'm thinking of those 90's teams, I'll throw out the name of Michael Bates. For those who don't know, Bates was a WR with Olympic Speed who made the Pro Bowl as a special teams standout. He was a fantastic gunner.

And since someone already threw out the name of Bill the Beerman ... why don't we go ahead and raise you some Mama Blue. Man, with all the Seahawks football she's seen (a LOT of it fairly bad) this has really got to be fun for her. The Everett Herald actually put out a nice article on her recently ...

Somehow, it just wouldn't be right if she passes away before ever getting to see the Seahawks win the Super Bowl. Let's rectify that this year.

Technically, I think the front four was much better with Sinclair than Daniels.

Sinclair Adams Tez McCrary

Meh. You may be right, but the D-lines were fairly close IMO.

'much' better was certainly a stretch, still that is the foursome that leaps out, to me.
