Tomorrow is the day. Feels hard to believe. I'm 34 and I have watched this team since I was 5 years old. From Jon Kitna to Jim Mora to the Beastquake to Mike Mac, the Seahawks have tied me to the PNW in an inexplicably powerful way. I remember the sheer defeat of the 2005 Superbowl loss. I remember the anticipation of the 2012 and 13 seasons. I remember the elation and pride I felt during the defeat of Peyton Manning. But over the course of this last week, I've felt giddy in a way that I never have about this team.

Listen to the way Mike speaks. Listen to the way the players on this team are speaking about him. About each other. Listen to the way Grubb and Durde speak about the preperation. Listen to the way Geno, DK, J Love, Spoon and T Dot talk about this season. Hell, even T Dot mentioned expecations that he had to hold back from speaking into existence because he claimed no one would believe it. There's something going on. Something special. Special in a different way than the 2012-13 Hawks. There's real self-belief and belief in one another. There's a quiet confidence about this team and about their coach that is speaking volumes. This team is going to shock people.

Idk if it's this year, next, or soon but mark my words: this team is going to win a championship under Mike. He has the it factor. Every time he speaks, he eminates such a strong desire to win and such a determination to create his own culture, that you get the sense he wont be stopped. Even before playing a game, Mike Macdonald is one of my favorite Seattle sports coaching hires ever. Regardless of how this season goes, I'm getting that Christmas Eve feeling again for the first time in over a decade. I'm so ready for tomorrow and I think it's going to be deafening at Lumen in a way that it hasn't been in a very long time. This city is ready. There's an energy about this team right now. Go Hawks baby.

I was thinking about some of the previous hires that I remember - the good ones anyway. Coach Knox brought real credibility for the first time to the franchise. Holmgren brought a championship pedigree. I remember us being a bit skeptical of Pete, he'd coached twice in the NFL with limited success. He certainly brought change though and obviously that turned out pretty well.

I'm trying not to get TOO excited - Macdonald is a rookie head coach. Grubb has never coached in the NFL. Mostly I'm feeling that the possibilities are endless. The organization seems to have brought him in for the right reasons and given him the right kind of support (thinking of Leslie Frazier) to increase his chances of success. We talk about the possibility of him being a counter to the great offenses in the NFC West, and that's what I'm really hoping for. Yeah, we all want super bowls but that's hype for the end of the season. I want to look forward to our rivalry games instead of dreading them like I have the past couple of years. I'd like to be in the playoff discussion all year long, maybe even clinch a spot a few games before the end of the season. If the offense is as good as we think it can be, and the defense just improves to average (hoping for more!) then we'll have a great year.

Yep, it all starts tomorrow. Go Hawks!

I feel precisely the same thing and I believe most fans do as well, whether they can articulate it or not.

Something amazing is brewing. I can feel it.

I am confident that we will win this one, but, I won't be overly concerned if we don't. There would be that new system issue, that not buying-in issue, etc., a shaker upper could be a good thing too.
