Everyone has a role. May not be sexy on the stat sheet but Murphy played his role very well, out of position mind you. Murphy was a big reason our run defense was vastly improved. Kick him out to DT and have a true 340 lb NT (Darius Alexander, Toledo, though he’s closer to 305) in the middle that can eat space and you can argue this D becomes elite quickly. Pick Jason Walker in the 1st as well and both those guys make this D elite with what we have. Walker is going to be Micah Parsons and you can move him ALL OVER the field
Darius Alexander is a 310 lb 3 tech. I would like to see a 0/1 tech brought in so Murphy can be used as a penetrating 3 tech. I would like to see him lose 10-15 lbs to become more Aaron Donald like which is what Murphy has said is his goal. I like Kenneth Grant that my comp is Vita Vea

I like grant as well. He hasn’t been consistent but could be scary between Murphy and leo

I don't quite understand the love for Grant. He's not what people think he is. People see that viral clip of him chasing down a RB and that's cool. On tape though, he struggles to get off of blocks at times and is quite stiff. He lacks true suddenness and lateral ability to stay with outside Zone or stretch plays. He isn't a pass rusher at all because he doesn't move laterally and has 0 pass rush techniques.

People love his upside and I get it. But to me, he's a rotational player right now. He isn't going to anchor your line. If you develop him then I see it but dude is still pretty raw. He depended on overpowering guys in college. I don't see the same success in the NFL unless coaches tell him how to truly play with hands and his natural leverage.

Jamaree Caldwell is the superior NT to me. Derrick Harmon is the superior pass rush to me. Walter Nolan is the superior overall DT than Grant.

Dude's 6'5" 220# and can play the wildcat like Taysom Hill too. Wouldn't hate him in the 3rd, but it looks like he projects as high as bottom of the 1st.

I don't think he'll go anywhere near the 1st or 2nd rounds. He is still a project. Look at the highlights. He doesn't really run any NFL routes. He's a gadget player right now.

Luther Burden, you have to love the attitude, a strong mind to add to the locker room, he would push dk and jsn, or just jsn..

That's another guy I have started to love lately, Jamaree Caldwell. And he is a bigger guy like what we need. Nolan right now I think is superior as well. He's more of a disrupt the pocket type than a run stuffer. Obviously, I would take both for different situations. Both have a role on this team. I like Grant, he was underwhelming playing next to Mason Graham so that is worrisome but I think there is a lot of untapped potential. To me he is more of a day 2 guy but he is being projected in the 1st.

If you look at the numbers, Nolan is one of the most productive players rushing or stopping the run. That's why I said he's the superior DT overall. He blows Grant away in every metric.

Grant isn't the run stuffing DT people think he is.

It's been an unprecedented run on WR talent since 2019. At least 4 studs (they would all be 1st rounders in redrafts) in each of the last 6 drafts. I wonder if it will continue.

I've seen all these players mocked to us at #18 by all the major draft sites at least once so far:

Luther Burden III WR
Kelvin Banks Jr. OT
Armand Membou OT
Nick Emmanwori S
Wyatt Milum OT
Tyler Booker OG
Josh Simmons OT
Shemar Stewart EDGE
Colston Loveland TE
Nic Scourton EDGE
Shemar Turner DT
Will Campbell OT
Donovan Jackson OG
Jalon Walker LB
Mykel Williams Edge
Kenneth Grant DL
Malaki Starks S
Emeka Egbuka WR
Among that list, I'm very comfortable with:

- Burden
- Banks Jr.
- Membou
- Booker
- Loveland
- Jackson (Would like it more if they trade down to the 20s and then pick him)

While WR is possible in the first round keep in mind that there might be another run on offensive players like what happened with the last draft which will push down defensive talent.

Not to mention that this draft is supposedly deeper than usual in front 7 prospects meaning teams can still get good players into the 2nd round affecting their decision to maybe wait on that defensive talent knowing that is the case.
