Was kind of hoping no one would snag him and we could bring him back. But at least he's not a 49er.

RT @AdamSchefter: Jaguars claimed WR Stephen Williams from SEA off waivers.

Kinda surprised it wasn't the Niners, to be honest.
The Jaguars are WAY ahead of the 49ers in the pecking order of waiver claims.

Right, but how long do they have to make a claim on the wire? Didn't we release him last week?

He was supposedly released Saturday. NFL teams have 24 hours to put in for a waived player after the release time, then the one highest up on the priority list gets to sign the player. If they claimed him yesterday it would not be surprising to not hear about it until today.

He was waived on Saturday. The waiver claim process is suspended on Sundays so claims of players waived on Saturday are announced on Monday.

We released him this last Saturday because Irvin had a roster exemption to determine if he was in game shape probably...

Jacksonville would be #2
San Fransisco #31

Waiver priority factors in current record at this point in the season. JAX is probably #1 since KC is now near the bottom.

A little too much has been made of the Seahawks-49ers signing "arms race".

So good news is that we improved our ranking on the waiver list with this weeks loss!!!!!.......

Glass is half-full mentality here

Well, many thanks to Gus Bradley for not letting this guy hit the Niners squad.

Cardinals put in a claim for him as well, but Jags had higher priority.

I hope Williams does well. I'm rooting for him and all the other Jaghawks to help turn that team around and have great careers.

If true, that's kinda funny.

Cardinals, before the season: "Let's go ahead and drop Stephen Williams, he sucks."

Cardinals, after we release him: "The Seahawks really showed us this guy's potential, let's get him back. And fire whoever is responsible for letting him go."

Funny, I had the exact same thought.
