i think with C. Michael outplaying Turbin for the change of pace back role/ 2nd string and Spencer Ware being a dual threat as a HB/FB that maybe they decide to trade Turbin. I like Turbin But Michael is more explosive and Spencer Ware has a running style that i think the coaching staff likes if he needed to step in at HB. If not i think Turbin will be the best or one of the best 3rd string RB's in the league.

this is all down the road talk but by mid-season i think C. Michael passes Turbin on the depth chart

C. Michael is the future at RB for us. I think Lynch is most likely to get traded, that is after this season. After this season he will be 28 years old. He will still have at least 2 or 3 very productive years, which should be attractive to other teams. Lynch would be appealing to a team that thinks it is one RB away from making a deep playoff push or a rebuilding team that wants to instantly infuse a toughness mentality to their team. We may be able to get a 3rd round pick at most for him.

People are getting wayyy too high on christine mchael. People with crazy talk like sending lynch away for a 3rd at most?! Look i get it christine has looked exciting and shown burst n wiggle.. He reminds me of AP.. But also remember he has had an injury riddled past.. Already shown that here in the preseason and weve yet to see him in regular season. But as before beyond that you have 2 proven guys infront of him.. Lynch as one of the best rbs in the league and turbin who a ton of people believe can be a starter eventually.. Who showed he can be effective last year and is still getting his legs under him this year after sitting all of training camp basically but has had some nice flashes so far this preseason.

And yea the whiff on matthews upset me lettin him basically have a free shot at russ.. But then i thought about it n gave him a pass for it being clay matthews who will do that to pretty much any back in the league.

I wouldn't make that trade today, but once the season is over I might consider it. A 3rd round pick for a 28 year old RB IMO is reasonable trade. RB production unusually dramatically falls once they turn 30 years old and the RB position is a bit devalued in todays NFL. Saying Christine Michael has had an injury riddled past is a bit dramatic. He had a broken leg and a knee injury in college and that's it. I would be worried if he had had a multiple knee injuries, or a couple of MCL/ACL tears. Blocking is usually the first and maybe only thing rookie RB's need to improve once they get to the NFL. Michael is a tough player and I'm not worried about him being soft when it comes to blocking. With a salary cap and a bunch of talented young players contracts coming due in the near future and the trading of Lynch should not be off the table.

Christine Michael outplayed Turbin? How? He busted some long runs, but he wasn't nearly as good as Turbin in Pass protection and Turbin was better at running between the tackles than Michael. I like the upside Michael has and he'll be a nice change of pace back, but talking about trading Turbin and/or Lynch is absolute crazy talk. Let's not forget that Christine Michael has also had problems with staying healthy, so relying on him as our feature back is just redonkulous at this point.

I could be horribly wrong here but I see Michael taking over whenever Lynch's contract runs out. Turbin is both his and Lynch's backup until next year or things go sideways, like the NY Giants.....I believe PS is a better coach than that old Irish dude. Kind of hope we play them in the NFC chakpionship....2005 was fun.:)

Turbin catches the football well.

Since we only have 1 and half TE, we need him.

Ware isn't going to have any value in the regular season for us. Turbin might trip over his shoelaces but at least he will drive forward and get you short yardage when you need it. Plus having him as a receiving threat is going to be important with no TEs.
Agree, he surprised me with his catching ability, which is nice for Wilson to have as a option. Turbin is built for bang'n and is great to have on 3rd and short. It's tough, at this time, to just ship him off!
