SPECULATION/RUMOR: Michael Bennett seeking trade

Clayton on ESPN 710 now and said he had heard some rumblings about Bennett possibly being unhappy but he dismissed it. Says there may be something to it but any issues are likely to get resolved in house. He doesn't see Bennett getting a new deal or being traded FWIW.

Maybe we did get something lost in translation. All I'm saying is that it's not literally possible for both things to be true (that he's seeking the trade and that he hasn't asked the Seahawks). It's more than just semantics, it's evidence that perhaps this guy was being used for a higher purpose. I never said the guy lied. I've said he seems to be wrong. The why he is wrong portion is completely up for debate, but there are only two options here.

1) Sources close to (or within) the Seahawks organization have lied to multiple writers about Bennett having asked to be traded

2) The original tweet that started the rumor was fueled by misinformation.

Obviously there is the possibility the guy made it up, but I find that to be ridiculous, because he has no reason to make it up.

Out of the above 2 scenarios, only 1 can hold true. Either the Seahawks (sources) lied or that writer was misinformed.

If you honestly believe that the Seahawks organization doesn't lie to the media to protect their interests, I have a bridge to sell you. Either way, we will never know.

All teams lie to protect their interest, just as many writers jump to try to be the first to report something from their sources. How many times have guys with sources been wrong? It happens all the time. Especially during free agency and draft season. Teams, players and agents all have agendas and they often use the media to help score a few extra bucks in the contract. The question here is who would gain? It's not the Seahawks, and that is why the odds of this being true are very very slim and bordering on none

Well Russell retweeted the ADB tweet so it must be true! lol man the offseason can't go away fast enough. Come on draft day! If one man thinks they are above the team then I say let them go where they believed they are to be happy. I'll trust the FO to make whatever decision when it comes to personnel. Lately it seems like rumors and gossips have been splitting the fence with us fans, but I guess that's normal. We can't do anything about it, take the wait and see approach for now.
