Edge isn't the need as much as other positions.

JP is the only back other than Love in the draft that can start right away. Our RB room is banged up and depleted

None of them are even remotely close to JP

That is hilariously false. Case in point: The MAC has weaker competition and Toledo churns out great DB's like clockwork

Other than Edge we have addressed every single need in the draft and well might I add.
Love the breakdown C plus is a nice grade. Ima tough grader. No offense, I new it was something of a trap answering the OPs original question. I did it anyway. ❤️ "Float like a butterfly; sting like a bee." Mike Saulk.

We are talking about none other than Mr. John Schneider here. The floor or base is B+ for John; this draft is above norm, so an A, a solid one.

I could just as easily say “I give it an A++++ because we haven’t seen any of these guys on an NFL field yet. “

So no team gets better than a C? Post draft grades, if we choose to participate, should be given based on the available information at the time, which doesn’t include how the players will perform on an NFL field, because we don’t have that information for any of them.

Otherwise it would just be giving every team a C.
Except for the Niners....they always get an F. LOL

Two SB championships with Two SEPARATE rosters. John is a beast. He has earned plenty of leeway in my eyes. I will probably always have a hard time not laughing when someone acts like he's stupid for not picking who THEY want. Dude is probably the best in the business at what he does. Has he had some misses, absolutely. Every single GM in the history of the NFL has had some clunkers. But his hits, imo, more than make up for his misses.

Just glad the draft is over. Now onto the Schedule release, free agents, etc.

It most certainly was not a “trap”.

I sincerely want to hear the educated opinions of those that disagree agree with me, both those that grade higher and lower than myself.

This type of conversation is how we all grow and learn regardless of the topic.

You won’t catch me belittling anyone for their opinion on this, as long as they’re not obviously trolling.

I don't like grades. I don't give grades. I think this has been a very successful draft though. I only think about what's the goal of this franchise right now? It's to sustain winning or extending the contention window. Moves have to make sense. Alignment.

Others can debate the positional values and I think it's a fair discussion. I just don't prioritize it.

Instead, I'll talk about what I've learned from this draft:

1) Loyalty still matters. The Seahawks since the 2022 draft have never drafted a transfer in the 1st round. Their other highly sought after dude reportedly was Chris Johnson -- another one school dude. In fact, the only transfers in that same time span for the first 3 rounds were Zach Charbonnet and Ken Walker. It may not be the only thing that determines a high pick but it sort of trends that way.

2) Production matters. The deeper analytics are there for Jadarian Price. The team dives into a lot of metrics for RBs. Clark, Neal, Stephens were all highly productive for their teams. The first 4 picks all played significant snaps. You have to play a lot and you have to be productive.

3) Follow the crumbs. It's been very chalk. The Seahawks have almost telegraphed what they want to do the last couple of seasons. They didn't sign a long-term guard last season and took Zabel. At least they tried and failed with Will Fries. They only signed a draft-hedge at RB and then took Price. If they feel like the draft is going to fall their way, they plan accordingly. They trust their process.

4) I've said this before but they clearly want to be ahead and pick their dude at the position they want. They ain't settling for a LJ Collier, Germain Ifedi, Ethan Pocic, and Justin Britt. These were either reaches or players that were on the tail-end of a positional run.

- Cross was the 3rd OT taken.
- Witherspoon & JSN were the top CB and WR respectively.
- Murphy was the top DT taken.
- Zabel was the 2nd G.
- Price was the 2nd RB.

There is no floor. That's introduction of new information insisting he can't get less than a B plus. Argument by fallacy. The OP said why not a B plus? I gave my reasons certainly not all of them. Had fun with it working with what posters gave me, which seemed to me, the nature of grading. Also, to assume I hate Mr Schneider would be incorrect. We do have the superbowl team. I do realize alot of years teams like the jets and Bengals get As every year but never win. This is about why the 2026 nfl draft Mr Schneider got a C plus from me. Which is not an indictment of his overall ability, the superbowls or any other inferred judgement because I beleive differently. I am just not a blind homer.

People can have whatever grade they want, doesn't impact how the players are going to play on the field. I like reading people's grades, even if I don't agree with them. Still fun to talk about the draft and our picks. We've been down this road several times. X player gets drafted, some hate the pick, he ends up being a contributor. Not sure someone is a blind homer if they don't blast every pick the Hawks ever make, but that's a different conversation. 🤘

Sorry, but I have a strong aversion to grades. I blame it on my childhood.

I failed Grade 1,,,Grade 4...Grade 6 and Grade 7.

As long as there are a couple rookies that can hold their own somewhere on the field, the team can be as good or better than last season. Then it comes down to managing the attitudes of 20something millionaires.
The other factor is the further development of existing players. Can Darnold be good Darnold next year? Can Bradford figure it out or someone else on squad? Do we see further improvement from Hall with the loss of Mafe. Okada and Jobe’s development will also be interesting to watch. Shaheed gets a full year with the squad which should help. Hopefully Horton comes back and contributes. Then if we can stay relatively healthy at key positions. This is the recipe to repeat.

Oh grasshopper. All of that matters very little.
Can we get the ball to Bobo?
That is the snatch the pebble from my hand test.
