I'll leave the in-depth analysis to the Kearlys of the world, but I will pipe in and say there was an awful lot of chatter, even in the national media, that went along with the idea that hiring Fisher as a coach somehow instantly made the team dangerous. That chatter happened even before they won some games last year.
Can't deny they outperformed some expectations last year, but where I think it got out of hand was drawing a straight line from their improvement in win totals to this year. Yes Fisher had success with the Titans, but it's very difficult in the NFL to be able to succeed for 2 different teams as a coach. Parcells couldn't turn Dallas into a Superbowl threat and he's the father of a coaching tree.
I think Fisher is a good coach, but no way did I think he'd walk into a completely different situation like St. Louis and turn it around like Harbaugh did in San Fran.
But that brings up an interesting point...Harbaugh had the midas touch with Alex Smith, I wonder if it were Harbaugh in STL if he could do anything with Bradford.
