So much for running it back.

How about Riq giving up both a deep conversion, and subsequent a TD in game 1?

How about Riq's drive extending taunting, and subsequently giving up a long TD in game 19?

How about a really dumb, poorly designed gadget play with Milroe?

All three of these were in close games, two losses and a narrow win, where the unforced error kept the game closer than it should have been.

The architects of these three unforced errors are no longer with the team.

Kick returner letting the ball sit in the end zone did not affect the outcome of the 31-17 Seahawks win.

Landing Zone error and Not knowing the rules did affect the game outcomes.

Close games happen in the NFL, as do dumb mistakes and dumb luck. They tend to even out with time, as they did this season.
Defenders get beat every game. Those arent even unforced errors. And another you pointed out was a bad play call executed poorly.

I'm talking about the weird luck stuff we depended on like the Rams two point conversion gaffe and the Steelers kickoff return brain lapse. How often have you seen THOSE things happen?

Since everyone so desperately values my opinion on these matters, here is the definitive ranking of NFL QBs from #1 to wherever I have Darnold. Seeing as he was like the 8th best QB over the first half of the season, and about 20th best over the second half, plus a small bump for an acceptable playoff performance, I'm guessing I have him around 12th.

1. Burrow
2. Mahomes
3. Allen
4. Purdy
5. Daniels
6. Love
7. Willis
8. Stafford
9. Jackson
10. Mayfield
11. Stroud
12. Hurts
13. Lawrence
14. Herbert
15. Caleb Williams
16. Prescott
17. Mendoza
18. Darnold

18th is pretty reasonable. Some might have had Goff, Maye, or Daniel Jones higher.
Stroud 11? I can't take this seriously and Mendoza ahead of Darnold? Willis 7? I love you Rat but this is hilarious.

Riq losing focus is absolutely an unforced error, and it was a repeat pattern for him. It cost us one game, almost cost us another, and cost him millions of dollars. I will grant you that defenders get beat in games, and it isn't the same level of absurdity as the two plays you mention here. It is on par with the kicker missing the landing zone that you mentioned in your prior post.

The end-zone kickoff, while lucky, had no effect on the outcome of that game, only the final score.

The two point conversion clearly was the kind of whacky thing that rarely happens, and can go either way. We did get lucky on that one, and it heavily impacted our playoff seeding and our chances of post-season success.

One lucky play going our way does not mean we depended on luck to win the season.

Dude, why can't you just enjoy wins?? Why do you always have to put an asterisk next to every win? Every team gets breaks, lucky bounces, etc. Welcome to football.
Honest question. Why does it have to look a certain way? Win by 1, win by 30, it counts the same. How many lucky breaks did the Pats get in the SB? SEVERAL. If Sam doesn't miss a few throws, they win by 35, easily.
Not trying to argue, but you seem hell bent on downplaying EVERY win the Hawks get. It's strange af.

We won, but we got lucky. What in the actual hell is that? Cry for attention?

If I didn't enjoy wins, why would I be a Buckeye fan?

You clearly DON'T enjoy wins. You seem to watch as if it's the old BCS. And that's fine, do you.
But holy hell, acting like people are idiots if they enjoy wins makes no sense. Downplaying WINS, including SUPER BOWL WINS is the strangest sh** I've ever seen. We didn't win 50-0, this sucks!!!!

You got me. I hated dominating the team I dislike most in the Super Bowl.

No, we got lucky, remember? You've said it several times. And you've also made it known that they basically have no shot at repeating. Impressive.

If anything I'm underrating Willis. Nearly everything he does is at an elite level, he's just missing a bigger sample size. As much as Daniel Jones suddenly makes Darnold look massively underpaid, that's how much Willis is going to make him look overpaid.

Stroud gets teed off on more than any QB in the league and has still led his team to a playoff win all three years he has been in the league. GM malpractice with the OL is the only thing keeping him out of perennial MVP consideration. He's probably the toughest QB in the league.

I needed this today, thank you.
