So much for running it back.

Certainly easier for the laugh react warriors to post memes than rebuttals.
The memes and negative reactions are boring and dumb but you understand why this is happening, right? It's hard to have an actual discussion about a complex prediction, like the Seahawks finishing 3rd in the NFC West, because that's like 5+ debates rolled into one. In order for the Seahawks to finish 3rd (and not just from a season lost to injuries), a bunch of other things have to be true and many of those things will be debatable. Thus, this prediction is also a debate about how good Purdy is, about how important the departing Seahawks players were to the team, when Stafford's age will catch up with him, etc. Every single one of those points can all devolve into talks that go into circles and end with agreeing to disagree. So you've basically stated a thesis people don't want to leave unanswered but the thesis is based on a bunch of points people really don't have the desire or time to argue. People won't ignore it because they disagree with it. People also can't really engage with it because it's a lot of work for something very inconsequential. As a result, people end up posting memes and reactions instead.

If this is the kind of response you what you want, then hey, it's working. If you're actually trying to get more of a fact-based, intellectual style debate, you're going to have to go about this differently, like trying to argue something simpler. (I'd love it if memes and negative reactions weren't what they are, but it's a lot easier to figure out ways of writing stuff that doesn't encourage this than it is to try to change all of internet culture).

With all these free agents leaving, this will NOT be anything near the team that just won the Super Bowl. Just sayin’.
We lost 3 guys. The defense is all returning except Mafe and Bryant. Offense, we lost walker. It's all good, we'll be just as good or even better next year. We'll find a replacement RB, I'm not worried about that. We have pretty much the same team.

With the players we had in place last season, I for one thought we had another season before any talk regarding a Super Bowl run....boy was I wrong. If John and Mike can swing a few nice hits in FA and the draft, we could possibly be returning for another Super Bowl opportunity come this season.....I'm counting on it even.

No team ever stays intact after a SB victory. The myth of running it back should die.
Right, because teams never repeat. And teams never make back-to-back Super Bowls. Why should fans think that the SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS can't do it again?

There's something that should be obvious to any impartial observer after this early free agent period: this is now the third-best team in the NFC West. Third-best coaching, third-best talent.

While the dynasty thing would have been cool, no amount of an inevitable short-term future of fringe playoff contention and picking 18th-20th in the draft will take away from how fun this past season was. Go Hawks.
LOL bro, youre drunk.

We had the same 1-2 RB punch until the conference championship game. That's insane in recent years for the RB position. Our OL held up tremendously compared to past years. We had guys like EJ and Zabel look done only for them to barely miss any time.
Sounds like coaches are doing their job, unlike the crew down in Santa Clara. RB by committee did what it was designed to do.

Niners were incredibly lucky the CMC held up as long as he did.

I read there were 64 different starting QBs last season. We were among the rare teams with one.
32 didn't go out with season ending injuries.

We had pretty good injury luck last season, but not a standard deviation luckier. SF had terrible injury "luck." They probably were a full standard deviation from their normal, but not by much. Year in and year out they are in the top 5 injured teams. That isn't something that happens merely by chance.

QB Darnold
WR1 JSN
WR 2-4 Shaheed,Kupp, Horton
OL continuity in place
TE Arroyo/Barner
RB rookie (easy position for rookie)

Front: Big Cat, Murphy, DLaw, Nwosu, Reed, Mills, Hall
Back : Jones, Thomas, Knights, Jobe, Witherspoon, Love, Emmanwori

Sprinkle in a couple hungry free agents and a couple impact rookies .......
Who the heck doesn't see repeat ? My God. Chances are we might be better than last year

Re-signing Shaheed also keeps Continuity in the WR room. :)

Since everyone so desperately values my opinion on these matters, here is the definitive ranking of NFL QBs from #1 to wherever I have Darnold. Seeing as he was like the 8th best QB over the first half of the season, and about 20th best over the second half, plus a small bump for an acceptable playoff performance, I'm guessing I have him around 12th.

1. Burrow
2. Mahomes
3. Allen
4. Purdy
5. Daniels
6. Love
7. Willis
8. Stafford
9. Jackson
10. Mayfield
11. Stroud
12. Hurts
13. Lawrence
14. Herbert
15. Caleb Williams
16. Prescott
17. Mendoza
18. Darnold

18th is pretty reasonable. Some might have had Goff, Maye, or Daniel Jones higher.

🖕, man.

🖕 for putting Malik f'n Willis not just ahead of Darnold.

But ahead of Stafford (what???), Lamar, Mayfield, Stroud, Hurts, Lawrence, Herbert, Caleb, Prescott.

Are you nuts?

Also, Burrow Mahomes and Daniels didn't even sniff the Playoffs last season.

What an absurd list, man.

This has to be a bit you're doing here.

I half-expect a Laugh-Track to play after reading that.

Aside from getting injured, do you think Burrow and Mahomes are the reason those teams didn't make the playoffs? Maybe I need to re-check the stats, but I feel like I remember Mahomes being in the playoffs at some point.

One of those dudes isn’t even drafted yet. Come on man, that just hands away the last iota of credibility you may have had left.
