So much for running it back.

Great. We get to “run it back” with a (slightly) different team.

No one* was looking at our team in March of 2025, and predicting that we were going to finish the season by hoisting the Lombardi with a bunch of “irreplaceable” players.

Let John cook.
No doubt, VERY few saw this is a SB team. Shoot, many of us. I figured next year they would make the SB. Pleasant surprise. Like someone mentioned, about a 30 percent turnover. Esp. if a team win the SB, they're flat out going to have players plucked.
Expecting the same roster every year is just not realistic. Frustrating, but not reality. Every team will have turnover on their roster.
Am I concerned about the running game if we lose K9? Absolutely.

With all these free agents leaving, this will NOT be anything near the team that just won the Super Bowl. Just sayin’.
They’ll bring Jobe back guaranteed and losing said free agents certainly isn’t a death sentence lol most will be replaced with likely better talent considering what we have in the bank

I'm not going to freak out over the team being financially responsible or over paying. Let's see how the squad looks comes July. JS did a good job picking up free agents last summer on good deals, could do that again.

This time last year JS got slaughtered by many for trading geno and DK and people freaking out about who our qb would be.
I actually liked and supported those moves. Those players showed they didn’t want to be here.

Every time another team signs one of our SB champion players, John has more $ to sign or draft a cheaper player eager to play for a top notch franchise in front of the 12's and compete for a SB. I am more concerned about keeping this defense together than losing K9 or Shaheed. Josh Jones would be a nice keep.
100%
There isn't a single starter on defense that I would place Shaheed or Walker above. I would absolutely take any defensive starter over them. We won with an overwhelming defense that matched up well against almost every team, and on offense it wasn't Mr 21 yards per game (Shaheed) doing the damage, it was JSN.

If Shaheed played all 17 games with the Hawks he was on pace for only 355 receiving yards last year, which would rank #120 among receivers. Not even in the top 100 WR. I've been following the Hawks for almost 40 years, and if it weren't for Percy Harvin being a hawk at one point I would put Shaheed as the most overrated WR in franchise history.

Can anyone name a WR who was slobbered over as much as he is despite only averaging 21 receiving yards? I've just never seen it. With all the slobbering going on you would think he was a 1000 yard receiver for us. He wasn't. He was Mr 21 yards

This happens with every team, especially one that one a SB because they're loaded with talent. Young guys will also get better. Mills could be a massive addition and we didnt have him last year. A healthy Horton who had 5 touchdowns in his first 6 games as a pro I think, could make the wr group much better etc and that's just a couple of examples. Gotta be patient.

Depressed, maybe. Eyore, no. Just offering an observation.
This team will be just as good. Enjoy the ride, kid. Just a really strange observation coming off a SB and it's March 7th. Free agency hasn't even started. You flat out said they will be not anything close to this year. You're going to be wrong, just watch.

Exactly who is officially "gone"?
I have heard of noone yet. I did read an article claiming K9 turned down lucritive offers from the Giants and Buffalo to remain a Seahawk, but AI is completely out of control.
It was hard to believe anything before AI started generating posts. 🤷‍♂️

That is true. With all the tagging of interest for ads etc going on by websites privacy is a joke, not to mention accuracy. Press has gone ballistic with never before heard of "insiders" and "experts". I think it all stems from internet marketing tutorials advocating steps to create credentials for expertise. Now with AI tools in use by anyone created images are accepted as photographs.

Starting to run the team more like patriots during the Brady years. Players will either prioritize money or championships. Let the ones who want the money go get it elsewhere (with few exceptions and there are no free agents from last years roster that are exception worthy.) There will be plenty of quality players who haven’t got their ring yet wanting to come here for “a little less” if JS makes the right choices and maintains the team as an every year contender.

Also, it's not like a ton of players have had big success after leaving. If you look at the history of this team under John, SEVERAL guys were worse after the left Seattle. Just sayin.

The glass is always half empty for some. Don’t allow the recent negative narrative to cause you to accept a negative viewpoint .

Every season there is a new mountain to climb and it is freaking presumptuous to expect another CHAMPIONSHIP just b/c you won the season before. The powerful core of this team is still here on both sides or he ball , that’s is the strength of the team. Enjoy the W it’s a rare thing.

The team has an exceptional coaching staff and a GM who is at times a magician managing the roster. The curse of the dominance of the Rams and the 9ers has been solved at least for now. Enjoy the reality the team is strong, well coached and managed, in a strong cap position.

All you can ask for a new season is a shot at a championship that shot is still here with a team that can truly compete.. Believe my friends, GO HAWKS!!!

Brady actively gave discounts of $5m+ per season, back when that was a lot of cap space. Then they got smaller discounts from WR/TE who wanted to work with Brady.
As much as I'd love to see the Hawks replicate it here, we just don't have the right ingredients. The Patriots had a very special situation. We're merely in a very good situation.
