This is a hard team to choose MVP's for, on other side. I have to go with Lynch and Earl. I honestly don't think their respective units look the same at all without those two. In fact, I think they collapse.

Offense:
- Russell Wilson
When you step back and take a look at what we had on O before we started "Russelin", you'd be hard-pressed to find another player that has made the more of a contribution to actually winning the games we used to lose. Not taking one thing away from the Beast, he's the Mann. Without Marshawn, we are a different team. Right now we have the offensive threats that make a defense react in a certain way to us, if Beast is not on the field, maybe defenses become more successful. However, the combination of a 50-caliber arm, laser vision, escapability, and just plain coolness (among numerous other attributes), make Russell not only the Seahawks offensive MVP, but a strong candidate for the league award.

Defense:
- Earl Thomas
ET is exactly all those things folks have said in previous posts, and more. Involved in virtually every stop made on nearly every down. He's all over the place. I've sat and just watched ET on every play of a recorded game; it's amazing how much ground he covers. So smart, so fast, so good.

It's not fair to the other teams we have these guys.

I'm doing Lynch on offense. As bad as our OL pass pro has been, Lynch is the #2 rusher in the league, behind that same poor OL, against most of the best run defenses in the league. That's all Marshawn there.

I am going to respectfully disagree with your reasoning for Lynch being the OMVP so far this year. The OL is a solid run-blocking OL - according to FO, 13th in run-blocking, 27th in pass blocking. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/OL

This matches my own viewing, in which we are running the ball well particularly to the right behind Sweezy, a plus run-blocker, and Giacomini/Bowie.

The only thing that we seem to stink at is 3rd-and-short running. We get stuffed an awful lot, and FO verifies that sense that I think most of us have - they have us at 31st(!!!) in that area so far, converting 39% of our third- or fourth-and-two or less run plays. Ugh.

I'd be interested to know Lynch's ratio of yards after contact to total yards. He's had to earn his yardage this year...

Thomas is actually playing better than his hype level for a change. It's hard not to vote for him, but for me the defensive MVP is Bennett. He's been the igniting factor for our pass rush.

Lynch is playing the best football I've ever seen from a Seattle running back, but Wilson gets my vote. Wilson is playing far better than his numbers, IMO. And his numbers are really good.

Offense: Toss up between Wilson & Lynch, but I'll give a slight edge to Wilson for positional value.
Defense: Earl Thomas, but Bennett & Sherman aren't too far behind.

I think if Earl keeps up his pace, he has a good shot at DPOY.

Bennett and Lynch for me.

Like you said, Bennett is playing like a DPOY. And Beast is the best running back right now. Behind a shotty Oline, he puts the team on his back and carries us. Sure Wilson is a stud, but I'll give it to the guy that does the dirty work.

Gotta go with RW on offense. I don't know if i can argue other QBs behind our line cause it hasn't happened, but he has made so much happen behind a line that for the most part lets 2+ rushers free.

Defense: Want to say Earl Thomas cause he is playing at a top 3 safety level but Michael Bennett is a force inside and outside. Guy gets some of the most ridiculous pressure from the inside I've ever seen and then goes outside and sees same results.

How many sacks would a pocket passer take with the Seattle offensive tackles?

Sherman
Pick six at the most crucial moment against Houston. Seattle has two losses without that play. Removed Anquan Boldin from the Forty Niner game.

Well... By the end of the year I'd love to see.
Russell Wilson - NFC MVP
Marshawn Lynch - NFC OPOY
Earl Thomas - NFL DPOY
Richard Sherman - NFC DPOY

Offense is obvious to me…Wilson. Defense is not so obvious, my pick? Michael Bennett. Though I have no issue with anyone picking Earl on defense, he is ridiculously good. Give him a year or two more..he might break into Ronnie Lott/Troy Palamalu territory. He is so damn fast that it allows our whole scheme to be possible. And there is Sherman just doing his usual thing. Possibly evolving into our version of Derrell Revis without the money= self worth issue he has.

On offense I'm going to go with Russell. His feet kept us alive there alone for a while. Honorable mention to Lynch and Tate.

On defense I'm going to go Chancellor. I can't recall him missing a tackle. I think he took the criticism from last year personally. Been blowing up the run and anybody coming in his path. Also shown pleasant improvement in coverage.

Can't argue with Bennett, Sherm, Earl or Mebane either.

It's RW on offense and it's not really all that close folks. Without his magic this team is dead in the water. I have nothing but love for Lynch but let's be real here...Without RW spinning his magic...Come on now.

Defense I am going with ET. What a freak. He may just in fact live up to that acronym..."Extraterrestrial." (Okay, so that's MY acronym for him when I hear "ET"). :16:

Defense ET. I think he is the best safety in football and maybe the best defender in the league. Theres some good ones. Watt etc. He's in that conversation this year.

Wilson or Lynch. Lynch or Wilson. I vote Lynch. He sets the tone for the whole brand of ball we play. His style wears a defense and breaks their spirit. He keeps it going when the pass game struggled for a variety of reasons. He imposes his will and has since he arrived. Thankfully their both Hawks.

Russell and Earl.

The numbers don't quite reflect how phenomenal Wilson has been.

Earl has a legitimate claim to being the best defensive player in football. His next contract is going to be MASSIVE.

Agreed. Beast and Bennett are close seconds.

That's how I see it, as well.
