Honestly, I took this as a huge compliment. They led the program with a segment on the Hawks! Sure, it wasn't hilarious but, as others have written, SNL has seen better days.

Ya, they don't get us, hence the reference to the mayor of NYC (really?), but enjoy it.

Did you ever think that the east coast focused comedy show of record for the last 30+ years would do a skit on the Hawks?

Man we have come a long way.

Wha? Farley myers sandler era, ferrell overlap and then into his own with the poehler, fey. Conan, odenkirk and smigel as the head writers. There were some great times on that show. It ebbs and flows. Right now its definitely not good, but it will come around. They haven't had that guy or gal that sparked a revival in a while.

That skit was stupid though. Jay pharoah is a great impressionist, but have never found him very funny. Writers aren't the most creative right now, but to be on the air for 40 years is a big feat. If you watch the full shows of the early years and the murphy years, there was a ton of dud skits.
